It was purchased to use as an outside spicket to prevent spattering when filling my dogs' bowls.
I'd like to get rid of the aerator and replace it with item LDR 500 2184BK 360- Swivel Aerator Hose with a Degree Swivel for Kitchen Laundry. What are your thoughts on the subject?
No - On both ends, it's not a female. It's a fine threaded MALE faucet connector that connects to the male hose end connector (female) on my faucet. This threading is compatible with any standard aerator found in most sink faucets. I didn't like how the stream from the BrassCraft aerator looked, so I switched to a plastic chrome-plated aerator. a finished aerator purchased from a hardware store The aerated stream from that low-cost aerator is quite nice.

This is for a spigot with hose threads on the end. I used it on a 2131LF in particular. Installing is a breeze. Hand-tighten the threads after they have been lined up. Instead of being wobbly and all over the place, the water comes out smooth and even. I'm relieved that task has been completed.
The water is well aerated, and the flow rate is similar to that of a standard sink faucet at 2 gallons per minute. It will fit a standard garden type male fitting on a laundry faucet without issue. There will be no splashing of water. As some have mentioned, I did not have any leaks. Simply make sure the gasket is fully seated in the fitting before installing it with hand pressure. I did use silicone grease on the threads to make them easier to remove if necessary. The aerator end piece was also removed, lubricated, and reinstalled.
2 GPM; Version with less lead. It took me a long time to decide between this aerator and a Kohler "high flow" aerator that required an adapter (this for installation on my utility sink faucet, which spits spray all over the walls and my pants if I don't use it). br>br>After some searching, I discovered a Brasscraft catalog on the internet. This aerator's throughput was listed as 2 on the line. a flow rate of 2 gallons per minute Identical to the Kohler piece - Most faucets have "high flow" settings, and this is one of them. Most eco-friendly / water-saving faucets have aerators or flow restrictors that limit the water flow to 1 gallons per minute. 5 to 1. 8 GPM on average, and even less on rare occasions! br>br>The SF0204X has an 'X' on the end to indicate that it is a low-lead version. I bought a Delta Faucet 2131LF Classic Two Handle Laundry Faucet for the laundry sink, not realizing it could also be used as a hose end faucet. (This was not a feature that I was looking for. ) ) This component aerates the faucet water, reducing the risk of splashing. If a hose isn't required in the laundry room for some reason, it can be removed.
This is the first time I've given a negative review of a product I've bought on Amazon. Because the metal is of such poor quality, this item is of extreme inferiority. I should have known better than to apply too much force when tightening by hand, but I didn't, and the thin metal split almost entirely around my finger! $14 was the price I paid. This received a score of 92. For $11, I bought a far superior faucet sprayer head. I got number 18 from a different source and I'm very happy with it. This is a product that should not be available on Amazon!.
Although the hardware is excellent, it is still in need of a good aerator. This was an excellent addition at a low cost and with a simple installation. For a very reasonable price, I now have a bathroom-quality faucet in my laundry tub, which I would recommend to anyone who cares. What do you have to lose?.
It has an old wall mount style faucet on it that, when turned on, splashed droplets onto the front of my shirt, but the aerator fixed the problem perfectly. It was extremely easy to put together and did not leak at all around the joining point without being torqued down.
The female end of a standard garden hose connection, which we have on the laundry sink faucet, simply snaps into place. The faucet now has a consistent, controlled flow with no leaks. They even threw in a silicone-coating upgrade. grommet made out of rubber.
