I hadn't attempted to remove or clean the aerators in the several years we'd had the faucets, and the flow was noticeably weak. The existing aerator could not be unscrewed with a screwdriver; It simply shattered into pieces! br>br>This kit includes a variety of aerators as well as a removal tool in a variety of sizes. The total number of aerators in our facility is twenty-one. 5mm, and there were three aerators and two tools in that size (exactly what we needed). I used a small dental pick to clear what I could of the buildup around each aerator, then used the tool from the kit to remove and replace the old nasty aerators with the new ones. br>br>The faucets now have an incredible amount of flow. I was expecting to have to replace each of the $60 faucets, but this simple kit came in handy. I've scheduled a monthly check and cleaning of the aerators in my calendar.
I had previously attempted to remove the convex aerator from my Riobel Faucet using a universal tool purchased on Amazon, but it would not come out. Not only did this set of keys include the correct key, but it also included a replacement aerator with a significantly higher GPM. The faucet I had assumed was indicative of old plumbing was actually a low GPM aerator, as I explained to my wife. If I had called a plumber, I would have probably saved hundreds of dollars.
I only needed two of the aerators from the kit for a Moen bathroom faucet, but they were unavailable elsewhere. I tried the big box stores, but they didn't have the right size, so I bought this little kit, which had everything I needed.
DIY repairs are nothing new to me. I've done a few around the house before, and I bought this kit specifically because it was supposed to work with our Moen bathroom faucet. I attempted to install the aerator that appeared to be the most appropriate. My assumptions were incorrect. It did not only not catch and screw on, but it also went down the drain. None of the other aerators were a good match. When the water is turned on, my wife claims that the faucet makes a loud whispering sound.
I put in new sinks but forgot to put in the aerators. These were purchased to replace the ones I had thrown away. These are great value for money, especially if you're like me and have no idea what size you need or how to measure it. There's also a key included. These are simple to install; simply find the correct size and screw it in with the key, just like a lightbulb.
The various filter and key sizes appeal to me greatly. We had the faucets installed, and the installer took the boxes, instructions, and keys when he left. One of our faucets had low pressure, and I had no idea what size it was. Because of the range of sizes, this is fantastic.
We lose pressure on the faucets every time the water is turned off at the house, so removing the aerator, cleaning it, and reinstalling it was a great solution.
