Selected User Reviews For WEN CT1065 10-Amp 6.5-Inch Plunge Cut Sidewinder Circular Track Saw

Invest in a Wen saw, as well as powertec tracks (for Festool Makita)
5/5

The saw is amazing. Have you been thinking about getting It's worth a shot. Do yourself a favor and purchase the powertec tracks along with the bare saw. Some people have reported difficulties using wen tracks and having issues with the saw gliding smoothly, but the powertec tracks work perfectly. The saw cuts flawlessly, has plenty of power, and is very comfortable to use. The depth gauge is quite There are some who do not like the anti kickback measure, but I do not. My favorite feature of the saw is the anti-tip design and I highly recommend this saw for those looking to get the most for their I again recommend that you buy the $115 saw (without tracks) and then purchase the powertec tracks (the 71387 is recommended for makita and festoon). For $130, it includes two 55" tracks and connectors. One track is perfect for cutting cross-cuts of 4', and the other track can be used for cutting rip cuts of 8'. ) It is amazing that, for $250, you can have a terrific system (saw and tracks), literally half the price of big brands. If you're looking for a Festool over a Wen, I'd say that the festools dust collection system is the only reason to get it. Truth be told, the WEN dust collection isn't even that bad! Dust can be an issue in a clients house, and not even the TS 55 will produce dustless cuts. Just make sure you can take your tool outside whether it's a Festool, Dewalt, Makita, I am not in favor of plastic, because the saw is mostly metal (which is very important for me). The saw is a little heavy, but I am very glad that there are no plastics present in it. What do I think about hiring It may be or it may not be. While I don't view this saw as a problem, I am sure it cannot withstand the same kind of abuse that $500+ plunge saws can. Of course, you are better off keeping a precision piece of equipment like a plunge saw out of the rain. 10/10. I would recommend this product. This saw is perfect for small businesses, DIYers, and contractors. My opinion is that it would work for commercial guys, but I can't test it, so I can't be sure.

You get a great value, but you need to use the right blade
5/5

According to my review, one of the most important things to remember is to stay away from the Oshlun blade 160mm The blade you need is bigger than the stock one, so you need to buy a bigger blade, but the correct size is 165mm, so the Dewalt DW5258 is the least expensive good option. It is impossible to score without a correct size blade. It will cause the depth gauge to be off. It is worth noting that I found the WEN CT9502 100-bit TCP/IP IP Adapter It worked fine with the inch Track Saw Track Guide Rail, and I did not need to purchase the Powertec rails with the track saw as other have suggested, although they sound like they would be great. What is the purpose of this saw? The quality is pretty good, especially for the price. I did remove the anti-virus software, however. The suggestion for kickback cameras has been made by others. Once that is done, and the two guides that slide on the track are carefully adjusted, and the tracks and sole plates are waxed with some SC Johnson's paste wax, it slides smoothly through the air. When it comes to removing antiviral software In this case, I removed the kickback cam because it was difficult to work with, but be cautious if you do the same. Although I did experience a bit of kickback once when I stupidly started to slide the saw backwards with the blade down, it was relatively manageable since I had both hands on the saw. When using the stock blade, we could make decent cuts in baltic birch plywood, but not outstanding ones. When they were cut with a Dewalt blade, they started looking much better. The scoring feature of the software was necessary in order to get perfect cuts along the grain of the top veneer. You can access this feature by clicking on the link This stop cuts a 2-inch line when it is actuated. Cut a 5mm deep dot first, then continue to cut all the way through over the second pass. Although I am not sure those additional steps would have been necessary if I had a Festool, given the price savings, I am not complaining. It's still not very efficient in collecting dust, even with the blade change hole covered. Obviously, the Festool track saw is superior in this regard, but from reading reviews, I'm not sure how much better the Makita and Dewalt track saws are. br>br>I think the biggest problem here is that there is no hard case presented. One could at least be purchased separately, if there were an option. Well, I'll just have to try to make the cardboard box it came in last as long as possible. The cost of alternatives is far higher than the price of this Festool might be the better choice for those that need perfection, but I don't believe the Makita or Dewalt offer enough compelling advantages to justify their higher price, except if you really need a hard case and want to save a little over the By contrast, the Wen saves a great deal of money over all other options.

My experience with the saw so far has been very positive
5/5

I have only used it a couple of times but so far it's been great! Designed to cut straight and cleanly. The cuts almost never tear out when I use it with a foam insulation board underneath as a sacrificial surface. It is a very basic unit and the only feature that I would have liked it to have was a riving knife. Other than that, I don't think you can find a better unit at this price. WEN is a quality brand with a lot of competing tools, and initially I was sceptical that the quality would be as good, but now I am a true believer. They have all been really great quality for everything I have ever purchased from them. Right now, I'm just an amateur guy who plays around in the garage a couple of times a week, so I'm not really putting anything into production. I am happy about this one, and I know you are, too!.

The PowerTec track was just what I wanted and I really wanted it to be good for me
3/5

The Wen with the PowerTec track has been recommended in a few reviews. This sort of thing has been reported across some other clone reviews, too (Wen is a clone, What I received was a completely different saw from what was described. Although the clamps on the one I got were not the same as those in the description, the model did match There is an antidote to This kickback was extremely frustrating as it would kick out of the track when you moved backwards even slightly. In and of itself, that's more dangerous than a kickback since aluminum sleds are in play. In terms of the drag the saw creates on the track, you could tell that it was very heavy. After testing the cordless Makita, I returned it to the store and upgraded to it. I was surprised at how well the PowerTec track gyrated, locking on to the sled and being able to glide (no joke). Finally, I would like to state the following You should get the Makita instead of this China garbage if you have the money.
