It's very simple and it works perfectly.
The tip of my skew always has a 45 degree angle and the face has a 35 degree angle as I sharpen it. Each individual sharpens tools in a unique way, so you may want to experiment with a few angles to see what works Here is what I hope will help.
The standard vee-shaped opening doesn't have a problem Included with the Wolverine grinding jig is an arm. If you want to use the Skew Grind Attachment, you must have the full Wolverine Jig.

Selected User Reviews For Wolverine Skew Grind Attachment
While I have made my own before, this simple design is just as simple as it needs to be. Simplicity is usually the key to complicated problems. When I attached the device and ground a 70degree radial skew gouge, it arrived a day early than expected. There's nothing I don't like about my life.
This works well for skews that are small, but not quite as well for larger ones. With the larger skew, it is difficult to get an even grind. The skew was changed for a slight radius, and I used the stand included with the Wolverine Kit to place the skew. It's a lot better now.
It was remarkably easy (but not as easy as grinding my gouges) to grind my skews using this attachment. In addition to the attachment's handy location, it is not in the way of normal usage of the jig, so you can basically use it without having to think.
The user interface is quite simple. A lathe knife with a cutting edge like this is a nice addition to any lathe. The process is quite simple one does not need to learn a lot. Whenever I utilize it, I am pleased with the results.
As a result of reading some of the reviews, I was a little hesitant to order the product. I finally decided that if it didn't work, I would return it. Using this jig allows me to place a repeatable edge on my skews and is fully compatible with Wolverine Sharpening System. Purchasing this product did not make me regret it in the slightest.
The Wolverine set will benefit from the addition of this little tool- Even though it seems so simple, it came in at quite a price.
A simple method for keeping the same grind each time you sharpen your skews.
This works, there is no other way to put it. If you want to use it, you will need the Wolverine system. A roughing gouge attachment can be used to fit it. Many woodturners can get away with this by hand, but this technique is more precise for those of us who have difficulty getting the perfect edge by hand.
