Questions & Answers

This grinder will work with a 3W LED light, right?

However, when I bought the grinder, the light did not come with the grinder, nor is there any place to mount it. An ad for the light that is very misleading. Despite this, Grinder is also a good game.

Are there any restrictions on the size of the wheels?

An arbor that is 6 inches long and 1/2 inch wide

Do you have a battery for this?

There is no battery operation on the Jet 577126 Shop Grinder. Powered by 110 volts, this bench grinder needs a 110 volt outlet.

In what depth does the water lie? There is a 2x12 on which it needs to fit. The depth of the description. I read somewhere that it was 12, but I read 11" on here. How about 5"?

Approximately 12 feet is the depth of the overall structure. The figure 2.

Quite powerful, well-built with 1 and a half issues
4/5

This is a sturdy and well-built machine that is powerful and quiet. The wheels are well balanced and each has a 2 inch There is a problem. Many shop vac hoses are one-half inch in diameter, so you will need an adapter to connect it to the dust outlets on this machine. I don't know which adapter it needs, but I know it will need one. There is still a long way to go It will take me a while to figure it out, but I'll post it here once I do. It is a nice machine but I wish the adapter for a shop vac had been included (issue 1), and I wish they had included an online registration card to register the warranty (half of another issue). Here's the 1 and 1/2 issues. Does anyone still use the mail-in warranty card? Jet does that, according to the news. Despite its $200 price, it is a well built bench grinder. I'm back at it today It took me a little while to come up with a dust collector alternative that accommodates a standard shop vac hose for this Jet machine The attached photos can be seen here. The couplings I used were a 2" in wall vacuum pipe 90 degree coupler and six #28 rubber O-rings Three O rings are positioned on the rings Every outlet of the dust port is fitted with a ring. In a ring, there are one. The ID will be 5" and the number 1 will be It has an outside diameter of 75 inches. Although it seems esoteric, I was able to fix it by using parts I found in my shop and it took me about five Please let me know if you know of a standard connector or adapter that works.

Whether you grind with wire wheels or wire wheels, you're sure to get results
4/5

Cast iron tool rests and compact size are nice. The size is about right, and it's a compact size. I was surprised by how sturdy the tool rests and the plexiglass guards were, and I was able to easily check my work. There were a few unpleasant aspects of the casting process the tool rests were rough and I had to flatten the top part of the flat rest using diamond plates and then sand it down. The casting took a little longer than expected, which indicated a strong casting, which is a good thing. However, couldn't this be completed while the equipment is being manufactured? I didn't like the fact that the left wheel guard looked like someone had banged into it when it was being cast, as there was a large gap at the corners where the entire corner was. As soon as I sprayed black wrinkle paint on it, I JB Welded it and filed it to look as though it had never been damaged. I think all of this took around two hours, and there is no way to tell where damage was. Overall, I am satisfied with the grinder as it has lots of power and is not as slow as other models at a lower price. Despite this, I had to add two stars to its score as I had to do extra work. A quality product that works well and lasts would sure be nice if America could get its act together and produce it. There is no reason for us to be tied to such a foreign supply chain.

I believe it is of excellent quality and appears very sturdy
5/5

There is still time to find out. According to the description, the base and wheel guards are cast iron but they appear to be made of pot metal. There is a written mark on the tag that reads 'made in Taiwan,' which gives me much more confidence than if it is marked 'made in China. I have no trouble with the motor humming and not bogging down when applying pressure, and there is no vibration related to unbalance. On the wire wheel, I want to remove the wheel cover, but it is not clear how it is held in place. Using a wire wheel removes the wire that fastens the wheel, so I can look behind it for how it is mounted. In the month since I purchased the item, the price has risen by forty-two dollars.

For a better quality grinder, the price is worth it
5/5

The results are pretty impressive. I pulled the wheels and ran a dial indicator on this to determine if there was a problem. The shaft has a runout of 0002. The stones provided weren't balanced well, so there was a small amount of vibration, but it was acceptable. I really like the cast metal housings for the vacuum mounts.

This is an outstanding product straight out of the box
4/5

A Craftsmen bench grinder that finally broke has been replaced with this one, which has no wobble and no issues. A gooseneck lamp, a dressing tool for the grinding wheel, and a water pot are not included with the JET grinder. It came with those nice attachments, so I removed them from the old grinder and mounted them on the new one. An attachment device, which attaches to the dressing tool, is installed on the tool. JET works without a hitch in all other respects.

Grinder that works well
4/5

There is an 8 inch jet grinder that is powerful and runs with little vibration. I needed a second one, so I purchased the six inch. The six inch has plenty of power but does not run as smoothly as the 8 inch and has a lot Although it is a good grinder for the money, I would rather have spent a bit more and got another 8-inch There are several differences between the 4 inch and 8 inch grinders. It is likely the weight of the device makes a difference. Also, older models may have better.

The wire wheel vibrated like crazy because it was so cheap
3/5

Turned on the unit after mounting on a workbench. Thought the garage was going to shake from the vibration of the workbench. This is ridiculous. You'll need to change the POS wire wheel with a shaft that has too much play in it. The new wire wheel is smooth as a glass and of high quality. Using the tools out of the box should not require fixing it. The whole thing is kind of.

A power tool I have never encountered that is as quiet as a whisper This could be used on a submarine running in Since I live in an apartment, I held off on purchasing a bench grinder for years, thinking that it would be too noisy to get much use
5/5

It turns out that my microwave makes more noise than this. Despite the fact that it is incredibly easy to set up and use, it is.
