I found the product to be well worth the cost and the construction was excellent. On 31 slices of log, I used this to surface both sides. These were an assortment of diameters ranging from 9" to 16". The boards are a combination of oak, maple, and popular. As far as we can tell, there is no burning or sharpness loss with minor cleaning of the cutters. I ordered a few more at this price.
In the process of flattening out a stump, I used this router bit for the first time. On both
sides of the stump which would serve as a coffee table, there was a lot of uneven surface left from the chain saw. Ash was the material used for the stump. I needed only a small amount of sanding to finish the job because the tool bit did a fantastic job removing material and leaving a very smooth surface. * The second stump had a Maple leaf on it. It was difficult to feed 1/16 inch with the same tool bit. Although I was able to clear one side of the stump, I was not able to complete the second side since the tool bit burned In order to finish the job, I bought another bit (the same one). It is quite pricey, but I think it is worth it.
It is not inexpensive to buy router bits. The only issue I had with it was that I wasn't sure I could trust that it would shave down two inches of I've used it numerous times and it works every single time! Hardwood did dull relatively quick, but I use it a lot on very hard wood and have an extensive collection of it. To be on the safe side, I bought 2. I'd definitely recommend it as a great buy.
I only have one complaint about this bit there was no paperwork attached to To find out the speed at which the manufacturer recommends cutting, I contacted the manufacturer. If anyone is wondering about a two inch bit (bear), I ran it at
10,000 and it cut well. In fact, I was thrilled by how quiet it was and the quality of the chips it produced. This is a great tool. I would highly recommend it.
To plane a table that my wife and I made at home, I used it in a router jig. I had no problems with it! In six passes it was able to cover the entire surface (top and bottom) of a 4' X 6' table, and it was still as sharp then as it was then.
It is decent but not the best. Make sure it is strong enough to handle your router.
My plan is to use it to flatten a slab for a table I am building. In terms of value, it is a very good router bit. There is a lot of carbide in the carbide.
