Yes, because of the excellent dust extraction through the mesh, these are effective at stripping paint. I used these to remove a relatively soft paint, but if you need to remove a hard paint surface or multiple layers, a coarser grit may be preferable. The Mirka AH-100 is available on Amazon. 241- The 060 Abranet Ace HD Net Grip Disc is a coarser and more durable version of the 060 Abranet Ace HD Net Grip Disc.

These aren't cheap, but they're well worth it. I use them in conjunction with my Festool ETC and a dust extractor from Festool. After that, there was almost no dust, and the surface looked fantastic. They also don't seem to clog as easily as standard sanding discs and appear to last longer. Between the sanding disc and the sander pad, I use a pad protector. I have a 5" and 6" sander and have only had to replace the protector pad once or twice in the last 12 months. a year and a half I own a small woodworking company and sand a lot. These are without a doubt my personal favorites.
These sanding disks with a mesh of 80 mesh are fantastic. The grit remains sharp and adheres to the mesh tightly. The mesh holds up well, and as more dust passes through the mesh, I find myself having to change the sander's dust collector more frequently. These sanding disks come in a variety of grits, which I'm working on expanding. They're well worth the extra money because they last so long.
These are far more durable than the previous versions of this product, proving that you get what you pay for.
For years, I've relied on these.
Amazon packaging is 100% more useful than cloth backed HD sanding disks that strip when impact on opposing surfaces. The random sander can be turned on and off easily for hand sanding. With a utility knife or other means, shape to fit other hook and loop sanding accessories.
It's a little pricey, but the mesh dics capture a lot more dust and remove material (I believe) so it's worth it. I'll buy it again.
These are what we use on our Festool DS sander, which is 6 inches long. They cut well, last a long time, and the mesh design allows the vacuum to pick up nearly all of the dust.
