Questions & Answers
A hole saw's measurements are OD, which is the diameter of the hole it creates.
Yes. Before using the cutter with firm, controlled pressure, drill through the masking tape and punch or drill a small pilot hole.
I'm not sure if it's necessary, but I'd drill the hole with cutting oil.
Yes, I would use this size for 3/4" emt fittings; a 1" hole saw could be used, but it would be a tight fit. 1 1/8" is a lot easier to work with.

This was required for a single task: a new oil well to be drilled My cast aluminum valve covers have a hole in them, so I'm trying to fill it in. Use a punch to make a quick pilot dent in the covers, then let the hole saw do its thing. After only 30 seconds, I had a perfect 1-. a hole of 1/8" I was skeptical at first, but it cut through like butter with a hot knife. In addition, compared to Home Depot and Lowes, I got it for about $2 less on Amazon.
The quality of this saw is backed up by the other reviews. I'll just add that when reading the descriptions of various hole saw brands, I was perplexed and concerned about whether or not they came with an arbor (the mounting shaft with pilot drill bit). This is one of them. br>br>I purchased it with the intention of installing a large-screen television. It's a good size door peep hole in a solid wood door for that purpose. I wouldn't recommend drilling all the way through from one side because it could splinter the wood on the other side; instead, stop when the arbor bit pokes through, then drill from the other side to finish the hole. Fortunately, I discovered this while drilling a practice hole in a 2x4 rather than on the lovely door. br>br>On the saw I got, there's a small raised line where the metal was welded into a tube shape. I was worried it would wobble or fall apart, but it worked perfectly and didn't significantly expand the hole size beyond what was specified.
I like the Lenox brand, but this hole saw was the wrong size for what I ordered and what was indicated on the sealed package. The package had a 1 1/16" in it instead of the 1 1/8" it was supposed to have. I only gave it three stars because it's too small for what I wanted to do with it.
The drill bit was extremely sharp, and it drilled through 1/4" aluminum plate with ease. Buying this from Amazon was a lot more convenient and actually more cost-effective than buying it from the local big-box store. hardware store in a cardboard box This product has exceeded my expectations.
Is it possible to use a saw drill? This appears to be the tool of choice for drilling a hole for the Royal H. H Large Door Viewer with 200 Degree Solid Brass Cover as a Security Peek Peep Hole for the Home Office. I'm not going to use the tool until I'm sure it won't splinter or damage the door. I've heard nothing but good things about it. I agree that the products are of high quality. I'm just trying to get in touch with the seller.
To drill a hole through a 12 gauge steel plate, I bought this hole saw. The tool worked as expected, and the tolerance was precise enough that I was able to insert a switch without having to use a file to enlarge the hole.
It does not use the "SPEED SLOT staircase design," as the seller claims. Images of bits with this design are included by the seller, but they are not included in the sale. I'm not angry; rather, I'm dissatisfied. br>br>However, it's still a fantastic bit that has served me well.
For a 3/4" liquidtite fitting, I drilled a fairly clean hole in a pvc junction box. On one hole, the saw jumped slightly at first, but this was minor. Simply take your time, especially at first, and let the saw do the work for you.
