You'll wonder how you ever managed without it once you get used to it and try to find a better way. I only have one complaint about this tool, and it's an issue I find with most with this type of handle while it may be comfortable for some people, if you have large hands like I do, maintaining a grip is hard and they tend to slip from you into your work. As a rule, I buy my tools in collets to fit into one of my handles. I bought it with this handle only because it was cheaper. For this type of handle however, I tend to cut them away and grind them down so that they fit in one of my handles or I turn them from whatever I might happen to have on hand at the time. It is much more comfortable to use custom turned handles for these types of handles.
The chisels provided by Sorry are of the highest quality. Hardened steel is used to really hold an edge for a long time. They are made of tough materials and can withstand being hit with While they usually come sharp, further sharpening can make a difference in the final edge.
After watching a video that demonstrated its usefulness as a finish tool, I bought this fingernail spindle gouge, and I have been using it every day for fine, delicate work ever since.
It will enable you to practice fine-turning (and finishing) skills more efficiently than a larger gouge, as it will require less grasping and tears out of the wood. In addition, I can polish or hone the edge of this to achieve a finish cut (minimal sanding is necessary). The half-priced home I'm looking for is still out there The gouge will be a bit larger (and you will too), but it is a good learning exercise, with a quality outcome A tool has been built!.
I am very pleased with the balance as well as its ability to hold a sharp edge like all of my other Sorby tools. I like the way it looks and how easily it sharpens.
I can do finer work now with this gouge than I could with my larger ones due to its excellent shape and sharpness out of the box.
If you want to save money, you must own a sharpening grinder. do, so I can attest to how valuable this program is!.
