Aside from the Allen wrench, there are three handles, 3 carbide tips, and three carbide tips in the kit. Towards the rear of the box at the left is a small slot behind the tools, as you can see in the picture. On the end of the Allen wrench you will find it. Alternatively, you can buy the three replacement carbide bits from the seller for about $20 for a set of three, rather than having to pay $15 for a single In addition to turning the bits top down on a diamond hone stone with oil and sanding when they become dull (see YouTube video), you can also sharpen them this way. In this way, they will be able to work longer.
Yes, the bottom is flat
You should be able to fit these into your tool holder if it takes standard carbide inserts.

It is just a couple of days Before a week ago, I had never touched a lathe in my life. In the end, after a period of months of researching, I decided to jump on board the woodworking hobby boat and started loading up my shopping cart. The carbide tip tools proved to be the best choice for my hobby. This Delta 46-inch is what I ordered I started by purchasing a 460 lathe, a Nova chuck, and a few safety items, and so far all I've needed is that. I was able to teach myself to use these tools fairly easily. The learning curve is the same as with anything. Even though I have never touched a turning tool in my life, I'm turning out some pretty amazing stuff for a legally blind person. The Chinaberry tools turned a bowl and lid measuring 7 1/2 x 5 3/4 without any problems. My first try at making something like this was in fact this item. They have performed well so far, and I could not be more pleased with them. The tip of my pen is getting slightly dull, so I just ordered a fine diamond card to see if I can sharpen it. It will be GOLDEN if that works out - so I will consider my decision to go with these as GOOD! Definitely would buy them again if I had the chance. If you keep your tool support a little below center of your workpiece and hold the tools parallel to the ground, you should be able to produce some fine results. There are a few other tricks I have found that I could accomplish, but typing them out would be too time-consuming. I agree that these tools are great at a good price. Troy/49/TX I was glad to get them.
The cheap hss tools I owned were already lost, so my intention was not to pursue The tools are new to me and I have yet to cut with them. At first glance, the carbide sizes do not seem to be Neither the thread sizes nor the dimensions of this set screw are listed on the package. Despite being chipped and soused, the edges of the carbide are still visible. It looks like I will have to order a few packs of carbide once I figure out the size. The round tool that came out of the box presented a challenge to me. This set screw was unable to seat fully because the threads of the screw were poorly cut and fully threaded was not possible. The round bit of the drill bit ended up fitting flush tight into the thread after I drilled 1mm into it with a 5/32 drill There were some soft spots on the tool steel and it had not been I will definitely make some larger carbide tools for myself, I think these are ok for small carbide tools. There is plenty of wood for handle construction in my workshop and a rod of O1 tool steel would cost me about $20. The labeling of thread dimension and carbide size specifications is poor in the overall rating, so I have given the rating of 3 stars. It was also disappointing to find that the round tool was not machined properly. Unfortunately, Amazon makes returning things easy if you do not have the right tools to fix it yourself.
The tools are great to use they move smoothly on the tool rest and are comfortable to hold. Of course, they are incredibly sharp and make quick work of the job at hand. The majority of my pens have been made using a gouge and I have never really gotten used to The square tool was of little interest to me. In order to use the Ci2, I ordered In the same time frame, a square cutter was replaced with an R2 The below is my opinion based on my limited understanding of pen making, and centered on my impressions. There was no time wasted in figuring out the sweet spot for any of the tools, but they also throw more chips than sawdust. The diamond shape cutter's radius seems a bit large for pen making. In fact, if it had been the diamond point cutter, I could have seen it being a little more useful. In order to replace your diamond point cutter, I will likely order one. Concave shapes can be made most effectively with the round tool, which is probably the most forgiving. To get an evenly smooth surface, you do need to use a slightly steadier hand than you would with a square radius cutter. The square radius cutter will be the most useful to me since it fits what I do and how I work well. However, I will find uses for all three. Clearly, there's nothing wrong with these tools and as other have mentioned, the metal bands slip a little but it is unlikely that this will be an issue since they took sixty seconds to glue on. In addition to the tool case, it is a welcome bonus, and I am not at all disappointed.
It is just today that I purchased this set I keep wondering why I didn't do it I went from blank to finished in less than 30 minutes when making the small bowl in the picture. Nothing to snag, nothing to capture, nothing to gouge. There was a minor issue with how well the metal sleeves were glued in, which prevented it from earning a full five stars. It was necessary to put a little glue and then clamp them until they were secure. The tools themselves are excellent, but I do miss that tiny little detail.
The wood turning tool set that I purchased has impressed me a lot. In my working career I was a machinist for over 30 years. Our client used Carbide turning tools to machine a variety of metals including exotic metals as well as carbon steel, stainless steel, chrome moly, titanium, and many more. As a result of my lower back and neck injuries, I am now on SS Disability. I'm now attempting to turn wood instead of metal so that I can put my machining skills to work. In my experience, woodturning tools do not work well with carbide inserts, so I decided to check out these Since they didn't cause me any problems, I've used them without any problems. While I still catch occasionally and don't have as many problems as I used to have with traditional woodturning tools, I do have some catches. These are more convenient than traditional turning tools in that you do not have to keep stopping to sharpen them. After turning the carbide insert a bit, tighten it up, and you are ready to go. A similar woodturning tool set may be useful for anyone who is having difficulty using the traditional turning tools and for anyone who just wants to devote more time to woodturning and less time to.
The tool is a very nice one, although it is smaller than the big names. They work well on my mini lathe but may not be sufficient for larger projects on my full-size lathe because of its length and carbide cutters. As a result, I bought them for my mini lathe since the big tools were too large for it. The only concern is finding replacement carbide cutters, but that should not be an issue for a while.
These tools are easy to use, and are an excellent alternative to the more expensive brand. I would certainly recommend them to anyone looking for small carbide woodworking.
