Yes, UNC (Unified National Coarse) is a coarse thread in the same way that UNF (Unified National Fine) is a fine thread in the United States.
The larger taps appear to be 1/4" in diameter, whereas the smaller taps appear to be 1/8" in diameter. I have two craftsman tap handles, and these taps work as well as any I've used in the last fifty years.
It has a ten-year warranty. 32 as well as a tenth
No, not at all. They're made to be tapped on by hand.

I ordered these because I couldn't find any that were HSS and weren't four times the price; if you're doing production, you'll need the higher-priced parts, but for a hobbyist, these are a great deal. Nobody tells you that all cheap taps are designed for chasing and repairing threads, not for forming them. br>br>I worked on some M10-related projects. There are no problems with 5 threads, but 1/2-threads are a different story. On the first try, the 13 tap broke. It was an overtorque failure, not a flaw in the tap, and it can happen even with good taps. I sent photos via email to Accusize and then called the next day. They sent me a replacement tap after I provided them with my order information. The replacement tap is a spiral tap with three cutting edges (as opposed to four on the original tap). As a result, the core is thicker and the flutes consume less material. I'll replace any broken pieces in my set with spirals. Accusize's service is exceptional in my opinion. br>br>I came across a negative review for the drills. For the price, I think they're adequate. For a little more money, you can get better ones. I hope users understand that they should drill in small increments rather than trying to drill larger holes in one go. I'm only planning on cutting 1/16" or less with the included drills. To get as close to the final tap size as possible, use your 1/64" set, and then finish with the included bit.
The only thing that could be better is a better surface polished finish on some of the drills, as some aren't very well polished and thus drag a little material after use. Wiping with oil and oiling while in use will help. I also bought the Metric set, which was of comparable high quality. There are many low-quality tools on the market today that are sold with a nice photograph, but when the goods arrive, they are not of the same quality or finish as the initial marketing image and description. This is not the case; the items are of excellent quality and can be used on a regular basis. For most Amazon buyers, this represents a high value and good quality purchase. High-production shops would invest significantly more $ for a better, more durable product, but for most Amazon buyers, this represents a high value and good quality purchase.
So far, everything has gone well. I drilled through some 1/2 inch plate and it cut cleanly.
I bought these just to have around because as a retired machinist, I feel naked without some way of making or fixing things, and these look decent enough to do anything I'd do these days.
To replace my old, worn-out set, this was exactly what I needed.
For general tapping needs, it's a good option. It's similar to having drill bits next to taps. Although the taps and drills are strong enough to cut through hardened steel, special materials such as titanium require a stronger drill bit (such as cobalt). Handyman work is a breeze with this tool.
Nice set. Not as good as what someone else bought, but excellent for the price.
It's great to have a drill and a tap all in one.
