On a 2014 Nissan Pathfinder, this was used to remove 8-year-old rust and crude from the hitch mount threads. Don't rush and take your time. When I was finished, the bolts went in smoothly, just like new nuts and bolts. Don't risk using a subpar product when Bosch has the right tool for the job.

Trailer Hitch with 25 Threaded Holes My Nissan Murano's threaded holes are heavily rusted, and despite chemical and steel brushing, bolts will not go in. I couldn't find the tap in any local stores, so I ordered it from Amazon and received it in two days. It worked flawlessly, and the cost was very reasonable.

It's ideal for mending threads that have been damaged

My Toyota FJ Cruiser's female threads for the bolts that hold the disc brake caliper to the axle were damaged by the Neanderthal who replaced the brake pads previously - Most likely used a pneumatic impact wrench to poke the bolts into the holes. I used the Bosch tap to chase down the damaged threads, and the new bolts went in without a hitch.

Weldnut threads are easy to chase with this tool

Installing a tow hitch. While installing a tow hitch on a 2016 Toyota Rav4, it was ideal for chasing threads and removing rust debris. br>br>On my 2016 Rav4, the weld nut threads were clogged with rust grit from the Wisconsin winters. WD40 WD40 WD40 WD40 WD40 WD40 WD40 WD40 In less than 10 minutes, I was able to chase the threads clean. Slowly turned with open-ended tools. T-nut vs. end wrench To flush out grit, I sprayed WD40 up the flutes a few times.

It worked for what I needed it to do, but I was working with aluminum, so I can't really say it's you don't blah blah blah, but it worked for what I needed it to do.
