The cable is pre-measured with an exclusive sliding cable stop for fast, accurate, and repeatable strips.
RG59/RG6/6Q coaxial cable is prepped and stripped.
Coaxial prep in two levels: 5/16-inch and 1/4-inch (7. 6 and 9 millimeters 4 mm)
For easy debris removal, there's a sliding depth gauge.
Pre-set cutting blades made of durable high-carbon steel automatically adjust to different cable diameters for precise, accurate cable stripping.
The finger loop design allows for easy and controlled rotation.
For quick identification, use a bright, highly visible color.

Questions & Answers

Are the dimensions of the product correct at 1? 5 x 3. 8 x 9. 6 inches? That appears to be quite a substantial amount. ?

Is it common for the center copper wire on rg6 cables to become too short? The wire extends only a fraction of an inch beyond the f-hole. connective tissue ?

That was also a problem for me, and my first two attempts were rejected. Fortunately, the stop can be slid aside and the cable pushed further into the tool, allowing it to protrude out the far side to the extent required for the amount of copper you want exposed. It can simply be nipped to the desired length if it's too long. It gave me a perfect cut after I figured it out.

If I want, this will strip all insulation and shielding down to the conductor. ?

The wire will be stripped in preparation for the fitting, and the braiding will need to be spread back out. If you want to expose strictly conductor, simply reverse the tools.

On the RG6 Quad Shield, it performs admirably
5/5

On the RG6 Quad Shield, it works quickly and well. It's comfortable in my hand and simple to operate. handed. Cuts precisely and without smudging. I was rotating it on the cable too many times at first, cutting a few strands of the outer braid. It turns out that 2 or 3 turns is all that is required. The stripped area clears up quickly (lower the black stop-light). ring the bell, depress the plunger, and shake) So far, I've only used it about 20 times. It's cheap enough that the lack of replaceable blades isn't a big deal. For me, it's a deal breaker, but I don't use it very often.

Works beautifully, but not always the first time; that is, it works beautifully when it works, which is the majority of the time
4/5

I've probably used it a dozen times now, and I've rejected about a dozen of those cuts on the first or second try. My advice is to make sure the coax is pushed up *firmly* to the sliding stop, then apply pressure while rotating it five or six times. (Okay, there's a little bit of pressure here - It only takes a smidgeon to make a difference. ) Also, make sure the coax segment to be stripped is perfectly straight for at least two or three inches away from the work surface. The ends are very clean and optimized for use with the Klein compressor tool when it's working properly. The pull test shows that they are successful.

The most aggravating packaging I've ever seen! I haven't tried the stripper yet, but I plan to do so soon, and I've already given it a low rating due to the nearly impossible-to-open packaging
3/5

Klein Tools appears to be opposed to their product being used. It resisted cutting like steel, even with heavy poultry shears. When I finally opened it, I was cursing a blue streak. I hope the packaging engineer who designed that package is infested with fleas! Later on: br>br> After the above-mentioned rant about the packaging, I tried out the stripper, and it works great, stripping just the right length while not disturbing the shielding, allowing for a proper compression connection. I'm not going to give it a bad review because the package is terrible, but the tool almost makes up for it.

I wish I'd had this when I was younger, about 20 years ago
5/5

I've been terminating cables for 20 years and this unit is my favorite because it's very ergonomic, simple to use, and has a good overall design. I like how light it is, too. If your job requires it, you could attach it to a lanyard. I like to attach it to a lanyard with a small carabiner so that it's easily accessible and won't fall off while working on a ladder. This unit is a significant improvement over all of the previous models I've used.

Effortlessly completes tasks - This does not appear to be a long-term solution
3/5

When it comes to this tool, you get what you pay for. br>While the guard that aids in measuring the correct length of coaxial cable is useful, it is also too flimsy, allowing for "wiggle room" when applying pressure to the cable in the slot. Overall, this was much faster and cleaner than the cheap stripping tool that came with my coaxial crimping tool, and I believe it will last a few more uses, so it's still worth getting at this price. br>br>Update: A week after using it for the first time, it still doesn't seem to be working very well, and I had to remove some of the shielding with other tools. I attempted to clean it out, but it did not appear to help.

I was unable to get it to strip RG6 in two steps
3/5

I tried everything I could to get this product to cut and strip RG6 cable in one shot like it says in the description, but it didn't work. It did, however, remove all of the insulation and other materials from the center conductor wire, leaving it bare and unprotected. Because the center insulation and grounding wires were also cut off, it was impossible to attach a connector to this. I couldn't find a way to control the amount of material cut with this tool. br>br>It's possible I got a bad tool, but I don't believe this tool can strip RG6 and RG6Q in two steps.

A powerful tool for removing cable sheaths
5/5

RG6 coax cable shell/sheath can be easily cut away with this tool. I believe it was designed to have a cable feed from the right side (if you're holding it with the handle pointing toward yourself), because feeding the cable from the left side usually resulted in the cable being stripped of everything except the copper core. So make sure you use it correctly, or you'll end up stripping the cable's contents instead of just removing the outer sheath and leaving the aluminum and cotton protection around the cable, which you'll need to properly set a connector. After 4 to 6 weeks, the outer layer is usually cut away for stripping. 6 spins around the cable, peeling off the siding with minimal effort.

FOR RG6 QUAD, THIS IS AWESOME TOOL! I'm working with RG6 Quad (18AWG solid copper core) and was having trouble prepping the ends with a couple of other strippers, so I decided to try this
5/5

br>The strippers I was using were ripping the braided shield, not cutting through the dielectric around the core, and making a general mess. Then I tried these klein strippers, and I couldn't stop grinning. br>These things are fantastic. Everything was made so simple and easy because of it. br>Do yourself a favor and pay the few extra dollars for these. br>I'm not sure how long the blades will last, but they're cheap enough that they'll be easy to replace if necessary.
