How Our Score Is Calculated

Product Description

By entering your model number, you can make sure that this fits.
With the Wire Stripper and Cutter, you can easily cut and strip 8-20 AWG solid wire and 10-22 AWG stranded wire.
Stripping with a compound action: grip and strip with a single-action squeezing motion.
Stripping holes that have been precision machined make it easy to remove insulation without damaging the wire.
In a single step, the insulation layer (jacket layer) can be removed up to 1-inch (25 mm) in length.
The tension-loaded wire-grip gently holds the cable in place while maintaining its geometry.
For corrosion resistance and durability, the chassis is made of cast alloy with a heavy-duty Ecoat finish.

Questions & Answers

Is it better to buy something made in China or one that is made in the United States ?

The Ideal brand wire strip master 45-inch (if you want it made in the United States) In the year 2021, the 292 will be manufactured in the United States.

Is this a stripper from the United States of America?

It's worth noting that the quality in Taiwan (Republic of China) is typically much higher than on the mainland.

What makes this stripper so different from Klein's 11061? This will not remove insulation from the wire at any point. Is it just the conclusion? Thanks. ?

The center of my Klein tool 11063 has a hole for cutting the wire ends off before stripping.

According to the information packet, lubricating the moving parts is critical for the tool's longevity; what type of oil do you guys use?

Those who advocate for the use of WD- DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT, DO NOT, DO NOT, DO NOT, DO NOT, DO NOT I find it difficult to believe that this is still being recommended in 2021. WD- 40 is not and has never been a lubricant! It's a DE-friendly Water Displacement formula (hence the WD). removing water from flooded equipment while greasing (the OPPOSITE of lube). It can also be used to remove sticky substances, but it is not an oil or lubricant. OP - Apply a small amount of light oil sparingly and wipe away any excess. You can learn to lubricate things if you know how to use this tool. ) Just stay away from WD-40. It REMOVES oils at the age of 40!

Selected User Reviews For Klein Tools 11063W Wire Cutter / Wire Stripper, Heavy Duty Automatic Wire Stripper Tool for 8-20 AWG Solid and 10-22 AWG Stranded Electrical Wire

After about 12 outlets and 8 switches, it finally gave up the ghost
3/5

4 days after the return window had closed, it had broken. Klien customer service has not responded to numerous emails.

I would purchase this item again
3/5

For those who are easily swayed by a single negative review, a one-star rating has been assigned. This is ideal. They strip wire just fine, and as long as you read the description carefully (understand the size specifications) and don't abuse them, I'm confident they'll last a long time; I've already used them.

Purchasing the Irwin version is a waste of money
5/5

Purchasing the Irwin version is a waste of money. I did, and after one day I sent it back because it only worked about 80% of the time. The Klein tool costs seven dollars more, but it works 100% without f f f f.

Eh, I suppose it's adequate
4/5

It seems to work okay. As an example, I'm not going to write a lengthy review extolling the virtues of this particular tool, so here are the advantages and disadvantages: Advantages: br>br>
- Cutting blades that are properly sized, fitted, hardened, and sharpened and can be easily replaced by the userbr>- Handles that are easy to holdbr>- Strips most common wire sizes quickly and easily. br>- Cuts wire in a variety of sizes with easebr>- Cons: It appears to be mostly well made, it actuates smoothly, and it inspires confidence in its long-term durabilitybr>br>Pros: It appears to be mostly well made, it actuates smoothly, and it inspires confidence in its long-term durability
- Handles require a long travel distance to operate the mechanism, which may be unsuitable for smaller hands or inconvenient for larger ones. br>- It is sometimes inconvenient to choose the proper cutter for the size of wire because it does not do a perfect job on smaller gauge wire. br>- Through- When cutting long lengths of wire, cutting jaws are nearly useless because the wire must be slid all the way through the cutters to point where the cut will be made. If you're a professional who enjoys the tool's striping capabilities, I'd recommend removing the cutter entirely to save weight and bulk and relying solely on a pair of high-quality angle cutters for all of your cutting needs. br>- It's constructed in the same way that many modern tools are: multiple layers of thin steel are cut to all of the complex shapes and then welded or riveted together in layers. This isn't a bad way to make tools, but it's a cost-cutting measure that doesn't look or feel as good as a properly machined tool made from a single forging, casting, or, better yet, a solid billet of material.

Wire Strippers of the highest quality
5/5

I'd seen these before at work, but I didn't have one until now. For my own use, I finally purchased one. This wire stripper is one of my favorites. By comparing the wire conductor size to the matching stripping slot by eye, you can align the wire with the correct stripping slot. After that, with a simple squeeze - The wire is cleanly stripped by clicking it. The strip length is the distance between where you place the wire in the stripping slot and where it ends - You can make the strip as long or as short as you like. There are a few restrictions. br>br> The wire size must be compatible with the stripping slot. If your wire conductor is too large for the largest slot or too small for the smallest stripping slot, it will not strip your wire cleanly; however, it specifies which wire gauges it works with in the description. And I know from previous work experience that some wire types are more resistant to stripping than others - I recall Teflon wire with thin insulation being a little more difficult to strip with all of the different wire stripping tools. Fortunately, this isn't your typical type of wiring. The Pros: br>br>The Pros: br>br>The Pros: br>b All wire gauges that fit its stripping head are stripped cleanly and easily - See the item description for more information. br>You can see exactly where the wire will be stripped and how long the stripped end will be. br>You have complete control over how long the stripped end will be. br>Once you've mastered the use of the strippers, it's the quickest way to strip a large number of wires. br>Excellently constructed! Limitations: br>br>Exclusions: br>br>Exclusions: br>br>Exclusions It only strips up to and down to the wire gauges specified in the stripper's specifications. br>It's a little pricey, but I think it's worthwhile.

It "just works," as they say
5/5

Those regular pliers were what I used to use. For electronics projects, I used to use style wire strippers, but they were always unreliable. They'd either fail to cut through the insulation completely, or they'd damage the metal filaments beneath it. Maybe an experienced electrician could use them with confidence because they work with them on a daily basis, but I'm just a hobbyist who does a small amount of wiring for a project every now and then. br>br>This, on the other hand, works perfectly. There's no need for any special technique; it just gets me perfectly stripped leads every time with no effort. It's a bit pricey for something I only use once or twice a year, but the peace of mind and lack of anxiety is worth it.

I just got my hands on this wire stripper a few minutes ago, and it may or may not work for all types of 22 gauge stranded wire
3/5

We purchased this with the intent of using it to strip 22 gauge stranded wire; according to everything on Amazon and the Klein website, it should be able to strip my wire properly, but it does not strip it when placed in the smallest hole. It glides over the insulation and shaves off some of it, but it looks like it has a hole that is too large for it. If you require this for 22 gauge wire, be aware that it may not function as intended. br>br>I had already contacted Klein customer service, who advised me to replace the blades with their smaller gauge counterparts. is a link to what you might require. They said they'd send me replacement blades for free, which solves MY problem, but I wanted to make everyone else aware that it might not work with their specific brand of 22 gauge wire.
