PREAVIUS TORK WRENCHS BEND SOCKETS SWEEPT REALLY EASE FIRST TIME USING THIS SIZE ADAPTER 1/2 TO 3/8 AND SNAPS RIGHT OFF THE HEAD I HAD CHEAPER AND PERFORM BETTER! I AM A PROFESSIONAL MACHINIST AND CAR ENTUSIAS, PREAVIUS TORK WRENCHS BEND SOCKETS SWEEPT REALLY EASE FIRST TIME USING THIS IS JUST MY PERSONAL OPINION.
The other adapters have done a fantastic job. The 1/2" to 3/8" adapter was the only one that shredded the first time it was used.
This reducer/adapter set is absolutely stunning. br>br>The quality shines through right out of the package; I've used them about ten times now, and the quality is incredible, bordering on magnificent. I can't imagine anyone being disappointed after purchasing these.
I have a 2000 Chevrolet Silverado with just over 400,000 miles on it, and the rear end had begun to make some loud bearing failure noises. I decided it needed to be rebuilt, so I called the local Chevrolet dealership for a quote, which came to $2400. They said it would cost at least $2,000 depending on what they found, so I decided to do it myself because I could get all new bearings, carrier group, ring and pinion, seals, gear lube, and all the tools I needed for under $2400. 00, and I followed through on it. On my rear differential rebuild, I used these adapters to set the pinion bearing preload. My 1 1/4" pinion nut had a half-inch drive, and the torque wrench I used to check it had a 1/4" drive; they both worked great, and I still have them for future projects!.
I needed to replace the CV axle on my wife's Audi Q5, and I only had a 1/2" impact wrench, so these adapters saved me a lot of time! They're low-profile (though not as low-profile as some of the more expensive sets), sturdy, and a great deal. You could easily spend five times as much and get a similar result. These will suit your needs if you're a shade tree mechanic or just like to do things yourself.
I was very pleased with how well they were etched, and I especially liked the plastic storage tray that came with this set. The 1/4" to 3/8" adapter has been great, and I've used it a lot with no problems, but the 3/8" to 1/2" adapter, as you can see, hasn't held up as well. When I first used it, it snapped inside my socket. These would probably be fine for non-impact applications, but they snapped clean off the moment they were attached to an impact gun. If you want the same level of durability and longevity as a well-known tool brand, don't buy this.
This item is difficult to come by in any local hardware store, including Home Depot and Lowe's. It wasn't easy to find either on Amazon or elsewhere. It's finally here, and it's fantastic. I've come to expect excellent quality from this business. I also bought a hex torque wrench set, which is fantastic. My next purchase will almost certainly be a torque wrench. Thx.
