The Tekton 1/4" SAE 12 point socket set has a lot of great features. If you're looking for a 1/4" socket set, the quality, durability, and price make it a worthwhile purchase. Let's start with the quality. br>br> The size of these sockets is stamped on them, and it's easy to read. They fit perfectly on my ratchets, with no wobble and no need to pry them off to change sockets. Most importantly, they fit on fasteners without play, with no rounded off bolts or nuts, and the rail they come on is also a great storage option for me, thanks to its small footprint in my box. They've held up extremely well after a few months of use. br>br> By far my most frequently used size is 3/8", and I haven't noticed any quality degradation. The rail does break in slightly and the clips become easier to slide, but this has no bearing on the rail's function. br>br>This set is reasonably priced in comparison to others of its kind. Is it possible to find sets for less money? Yes, but I believe it is worthwhile for the reasons I stated earlier. This isn't even taking into account Tekton's guarantee. Tekton has been by far the easiest company with which I've had to warranty items, and I'm a mechanic, so my tools are my livelihood. I can't do my job (or at least make it much more difficult) if I don't have the tool I need. A picture, a part number, and an address to send the replacement to are all that Tekton requires to warranty a tool. br>br>For all of these reasons, I believe the Tekton 1/4" SAE 12 point socket set is worthwhile to purchase. Whether you use a wrench occasionally or on a daily basis, this set will last and get the job done, in my experience.
I will make use of this item. On Harleys, it's primarily used for brake maintenance. They have a fantastic finish. They have a great grip on bolts. The holders are easy to use and fit nicely in my toolbox drawer.
You can't go wrong with anything Tekton has to offer. It costs slightly more than other brands, but not nearly as much as Snap On or Matco. However, in my opinion, the finishes are just as good, if not better.
Do not order; I ordered two sets of 1/4 in 12 point sockets and received one set of standard 6 point 3/8 drive sockets instead. So I'm down to one set of 12 point 1/4in sockets in metric and one set in standard.
Fits perfectly, has a fantastic rail, and is a high-quality set.
Goodwrench, if you're reading this, you're probably looking for not snap- under it, not on top of it You will not be dissatisfied with this purchase.
Both sae and metric are high-quality soskets.
