I bought this tool to remove a rusted heater element that wouldn't budge when I used a generic rod and tube tool we found at HSS. Purchasing the socket first time didn't save me time, money, and effort, but I'd have saved efforts, time, and money had I bought it. The following is a lesson learned in life.
It took me half an hour to remove the trailer hitch ball from my RV, when I broke a large heavy duty 1-inch bolt There is an open end wrench of 1/2 inch. With this socket on my Milwaukee M18 impact wrench, I only had to hit it 15 times before the ball popped off, leaving This nut seems very sturdy, and it appears the force is applied to the sides rather than the points of the nut. I consider it worth the cost on the basis of my own time.
Using this with a pneumatic impact wrench, I installed a 2" ball (with a shank of 1" dia) on my receiver. Install was completed in a flash.
The removal of my electric water heater's heating element was a breeze with this method. Compared to the cheap pressed tool you get at the hardware store, this tool is much better. Moreover, it is considerably less expensive than paying for a plumber to handle it as well.
The impact drill that came with my breaker bar was used to drill the hole. As far as durability goes, this thing is pretty solid. A solid piece of furniture with good craftsmanship. This is the first Sunex socket I've encountered, but I'm very pleased with it. It may be worth looking into other items they sell.
I bought this to go with my Milwaukee impact driver -- it holds up with the 600 lb breaking torque driver we have -- and I have installed equipment with it multiple days in a row and had no issues. . . i was so happy I bought another one for my business!.
This tool has been purchased for removing bolts from torque arms on a trailer weighing more than 25,000. My first attempt was to use a 24" long 3/4" breaker bar, along with a 4' cheater pipe, and I saw absolutely no This socket made it easy to remove all four of them in a short time with a 1/2" impact wrench. Thanks for making life so much easier for me!.
For the ball on my trailer hitch, I use this socket along with a long power ball. The spring connects the socket and ball in a way so that it does not tighten over time. This is a very strong statement.
