Questions & Answers

These deep sockets are described as being 5 inches in length. The length of the measure is 6". Does anyone know if this is true?

Despite the fact that I received my socket only recently, the total length of this socket is 3 inches. A half-inch wide tape measure measured 2 and one sixteenth inches when I inserted it into the opening. This should be helpful, I hope.

Which dimension does this socket have on the outside?

One and a half inches

Would anyone know if this will work on a 1992 S10 axle ?

While I'm not certain if it will work with that, I have found it to work perfectly on my 92 Volvo 960, which has an axle nut measuring 36mm.

Suitable for the 2013 Fiat 500, but not for the 2012 model
5/5

In spite of the fact that it didn't suit my application, I still gave it five stars because it is of very good quality. Instead of being an idiot and giving it 1 star just because I did not buy the correct item, I will give it 2 stars. You can call the special socket that is required by a number of different names. Thin clients are often called thin clients by some companies It is surrounded by walls. A stepped design might be called a stepped design. It appears from the picture that the specialized socket has less material for it to fit into the abnormal Fiat hubs. It might be possible to turn it a little bit so that some of its material can be removed from it.

This is the perfect fit The finish is nice A rock solid foundation - The best axle nut socket I've ever used
5/5

I bought a cheap socket since I figured I would only have to use it once or twice in a lifetime for my daughters Honda Accord axle nuts, the other socket was supposed to be 36mm, but after I put it on the axles, the slop was too great. It's not something you want to use to break 250-mm glass The volume is 300 mL The torque is in pounds of static force. This is not the first time I have purchased Tekton tools. I have a three torque wrench, numerous extensions, different wrench sets, accessories, etc. I was waiting outside for the UPS guy to bring it to me and put it onto the axle nut, and it fit perfectly! This was a 1000 feet-long rope My 2 foot breaker bar with a 2 foot long pipe on it wouldn't move those pesky axles nuts I couldn't remove after spraying with PB blaster for 3 days, heating up with MAP gas for 15 minutes and even trying a 2 foot impact gun. With just one socket, I was able to handle the torques of my impact and the stuck axle nut without any issues. It took less than 40 seconds for both nuts to come off.

I will never, ever care about how much money I spend on a tool even if I use it just once again, I will stay.

A laser etched surface does not mean an etched surface
3/5

It appears that it is well made. It arrived quickly with Amazon Prime. It was purchased to use on lug nuts. Two reasons, however, make me return the item The size of the socket is not etched into it. As stated in the description, this is laser The label is not actually embedded into the finish, so that is deceptive. Printed on top of the size is the size of the item. Eventually, the printing would wear off, as it does with all of the parts of a tool used over time, and we would be unable to Two points stand out (1) the lug nut has noticeable play. This can be a normal response, or it can be abnormal. According to one other reviewer, that may indicate that this is a standard size socket that has been rebranded to appear In terms of price is not a good value in my opinion.

There are some decent pockets made by Texon
5/5

These are only something I've been using for the last couple of years. Because the sockets are a lot cheaper and yet are durable and fit perfectly on the fitting, I prefer this brand. No one has ever broken one of mine. There is a lot of marking on the outside of the sockets that they sell, which makes it easier to replace them when they wear out. Since I've been working on cars and engines for 45 years, I've gained extensive knowledge and experience. What is invented these days tends to make me laugh. Making use of it makes working on engines and other things a lot easier. Outside of the socket, there are large labels. It used to be that one just had to grin and bear it. But now, there are special sockets that fit over long studs. You got skinned as your knuckles bled. Today, gloves are commonly used and they need to have various items with them. I highly recommend this socket if you are looking for a basic socket that is well made and accurate in its fit. You can buy some harbor freight sockets if you want to challenge yourself. When you try to turn the fittings, they do not fit well, and there is a lot of play. Long lasting and durable, these sockets provide years of service. Unless it breaks before I lose it or misplace it, I will probably lose it or misplace it before it breaks. It is annoying when I lose some of my tools in the fenders of cars and couldn't find them, and when one hears a clunk while driving, it makes me scream. You must have been looking at.

I had to return it because it wouldn't It is correct that 1 1/16 of the socket has an outer diameter of 1 1/16 inches

Unfortunately, the socket is too big to fit into the opening at the top of my water heater wherein the anode rod ends. Despite my best attempts, I was unable to jam the socket even close to At this point, I intend to look for a thin wall socket.

This is Cro moly and not Vanadium
4/5

Update went to Oreilly's auto parts store and the 34mm socket they have measured just a hair under 35mm, which is even sloppier than this one. I don't understand why manufacturers add this much slop to the tool, but this socket looks great. However, I bought it thinking it was cro vanadium, and the package wants to sell me cro vanadium whereas the socket says cro According to my understanding, moly does not last as long, so vanadium is a good compromise. I guess that's why Harbor freight uses only vanadium in their products. View the picture and see what you think. This makes no sense at all. I also measured the wall to wall with a measuring caliper and it measures 34 inches. Between the ages of 5 and There is a 6mm gap between the nut and the bolt, so the bolt fits really loose. The issue here is a deal breaker for me. Harbor freight has a 32mm socket. I measured it and it's 32mm. It takes 3mm to screw the nut down, so a 2mm extra screw will make it twice as loose? My answer to that is that makes no sense and I refuse to It is time for me to go home and find a better socket with my caliper.

Although it works, there are a few things to consider
3/5

My order was for taking off the CV Axle bolt on my SUV, and it worked wonderfully for that purpose. I only have an issue with it because it is either so heavy or the tolerances are so loose that it can slip loose and fall off of my breaker bar on the ground, which leads to picking it up out of the dirt if I forget to hold it. With the spring-loaded Dewalt breaker bar (which I also bought new for the job), I have quite a nice tool for all these jobs I could see people wondering if that was missing on my breaker bar if the socket was just falling off without a loaded retaining ball (as they have on nearly all of them). In the

all In this case, I was looking at Dewalt), but the extra-loose tolerances justified a lower rating for me.

Screwdriver sized 36 MM for removing bearings
5/5

In my 2004 Jeep Wrangler, I had to replace my bearing. We were able to resolve this with a 36 mm impact. The socket is too big for me, and 36 MM is too large unless you are a mechanic who dos lots of major repairs, but it was a great price, none of me could have done it without it. As a result of reading several reviews, I received recommendations to purchase the TEKTON brand. As for myself, I have no problem with this brand.
