When removing the lugs from a 2016 Civic, I broke my wrist. I only used my 1/2" breaker bar to remove stuck bolts and tighten lugs/bolts with my 1/2" torque wrench because I don't own an impact wrench. This product failure is completely unacceptable in such a light and minimal use environment. I've only used the other adapters in this kit on rare occasions, so I'm not holding my breath. Finally, a defect in the metal appears to be the source of this failure on the shear surface.
Since Craftsman was demoted to junk status, I've been on the lookout for well-made tools that are less expensive than the ultra-premium brands (Snap-on, etc. ). on). I've found that Neiko and Tekton are the two most cost-effective brands. I bought this set and a similar Tekton set, both of which are of good quality, but the Neiko brand was a better fit in the sockets (better). (There is less sway). Because it hasn't been put to much use yet, it will be put to the ultimate test.
I went to my auto wheel to remove a lug nut. With only about 30 pounds of pressure, the 1/4 to 3/8 adapter BROKE. The base of the nub that was in the 3/8 drive 11/16 socket snapped right off. This is referred to as "premium Cr- V steel"? Junk steel is a better description. br>Saving money is a smart thing to do. Look for a product that comes with a guarantee. As if you were a craftsman (split to pass the review!.
Yeah, these out chapters in reducers come in handy especially if you're trying to put in some spark plugs or take them out on a very tight spot you can take your socket and reduce it down to 1/4 inch drive and it's just slicker than hell to get it to come free and get out saves you a lot of time it's saved me taking my intake manifold off of my car so I paid for it 10 times right there no problem and ours wise one Lifesaver anyway.
Based on previous purchases of the same brand, I decided to purchase these to fill in some gaps in my backup traveling tool box. br>Thus far. so good. If it does not meet my expectations, I will change my rating.
These adapters are fantastic because they fit snugly and have a good grip. They can handle the stress of large projects with ease! Unlike many others I've had, this one will not snap off. While working on my car, I snapped two additional adapters for the sockets I needed to use. There is plenty of torque on these bolts when working with the breaker bar to get them off. These have held up well and are extremely dependable; I would highly recommend them!.
Smaller jobs were no problem for the adapters, particularly the smallest. But I've only used the 1/2 to 3/8 a couple of times and it's already broken. These are not something I would recommend. Replace it with something better, such as craftsman.
Buying everything separately could be costly, and finding it all could take a long time. It's all you need for adapters, and it's a great product at a great price.
