Yes, 1/4", 3/8", and 1/2" drive sockets can be used, but for best results, use impact grade sockets.
With my BLACK DECKER BDCI20C 20V MAX Lithium Impact Driver and a similar set, I easily removed a stripped lug nut.
It was only a one-time use container.

This Adapter Set is of excellent quality. The pieces are far superior to what I had anticipated. This set connects my Milwaukee impact hammer to two 1/4 Husky/1/2 Husky sets and a Kutch 1/2 set. All three sets are compatible with the adapters. I'm not sure if the adapter set will be necessary with my future Milwaukee cordless impact wrench, but it appears to work well with my impact hammer until I make that purchase. On a RZR and a couple of ATVs, I use the set/adapter to do light work. br>br>The set is lightweight and well-made, and the length is just right. The color of the adapters with the size labeled on them is more useful than expected.
A good set of socket adapters that are nearly as good as Craftsman's. One feature I like is the color coding of the sizes; my eyesight isn't the best, so this comes in handy when digging through a cluttered toolbox. I recently used them with a variety of socket brands to remove bolts on an old trailer, and they held up and performed admirably. I'm semi- I'm retired and like to tinker, so I'm not sure how well they'd hold up in an industrial or professional setting, but they'll suffice for now.
I bought these primarily for the 1/4", but I've also used the 3/8" (which I didn't need because I already had 3/8 guns), and you'll never need the 1/2" to go into a screw gun anyway. br>These work great; the only issue is that they wobble a little in my gun (SnapOn), but that's not a big deal. br>They're a basic tool, so it's difficult to screw them up, and these are fine. br>The loss of a star is simply due to the fact that there are better ones out there, and rather than implying that these are perfect, the rating simply indicates that you can get nicer ones for a little more money. br>(As a heads up, these are also slightly longer. ).
The 3/8 was broken by my harbor freight impact driver. I had to return the driver because a piece was stuck inside. It was impossible to get it out of my system.
I was excited to get my hands on a set of these because they were such a great product. I do "Re- Hobby crafts, upholstery, painting, and general handyman work are all examples of this. For the most part, an impact wrench is overkill, but with a good drill, a set of relatively inexpensive sockets, and a set of impact grade socket adapters, you don't need to be a mechanic to perform mechanical and craftsman tasks around the shop or house!.
I was able to put these to use the same day they arrived, and they are a huge time saver. I work with small engines a lot, mostly mowers, and thought these might help me save time during disassembly and reassembly. . . and they do. If I'm disassembling something, I'll use a wrench or socket to loosen the bolt/nut, then use these along with the socket to quickly disassemble it. It says "Impact Grade," but I'm not sure what that means because I've never used them that way. They are, however, a fantastic time saver and a fantastic value.
These came in handy when I was putting together things like casters for a rolling toolbox. They give me the option of using a 1/4-inch driver with a socket. It's much quicker than using a wrench. I like that it comes with all three different drives, so you don't have to search for the correct drive socket in the corresponding drive; they seem to work well and are durable so far. The fact that this item is not manufactured in the United States is one disadvantage.
I like that I can convert my impact driver into a small powerful tool and use any sockets I want without having to bring out the air compressor.
