You can actually remove the tool tray and store it in a tool drawer, leaving the empty box to be used as a storage space for miscellaneous items.

The case is very sturdy, so I don't think you'll have any problems with it. I've had no problems transporting this set in the back of my truck.
No, I doubt it. This is more of a bit set, with only a screwdriver handle (think nut driver, not wrench) and a few small sockets. br>br>It's a great tool set for what it is; It's not a socket set, that's for sure.

The bits and sockets stay in place even if you turn it upside down and shake it. The handle's spring keeps bits in place better than a magnetic one. In addition, the bits were chosen with care. It's obvious that whoever selected the bits has a lot of experience with this type of tool set. I also like that each row has space for a spare or a bit that didn't come with the set. At first, everything is a little tight, but with use, it loosens up nicely. The bits are surprisingly durable for a set that costs less than $100. For that reason, I keep a can of liquid wrench in my tool drawer right beside this set. With my big ole bear claws, I've broken some very expensive bits. I would strongly suggest it.
There are no sizes that have been left out of this set. I was hoping for just the most common sizes, but they appear to have included all of them! I needed this to replace my deep socket impacts for hand setting nuts; I already had flex head ratchets, but the straight one included in this set is excellent; I like the 1/4" and 3/8" profiles and feel good about adding them to my tool collection. I only had 1/2" and a set of proprietary pass through sockets that didn't work with universal ratchet arbors before. br>br>Despite the fact that it contains a complete set of sockets, the case is small and sturdy. I'm relieved to know that I won't have to buy a bunch of cheap sets to piece together what I need, as doing so would result in unnecessary tool redundancy and wasted space as I try to manage multiple bulky cases. They did an excellent job providing me with more sizes than I required in such a small package. I have to be careful not to break the cover. If I do, I'll have to duck tape it or make a new one. This is an excellent and comprehensive set.
DeWalt products have always been a favorite of mine, and this one is no exception. This set has kept me moving as someone who likes to tinker with home/auto equipment. There are no broken sockets, and the ratchet is well-balanced and solid in the hand. br>br>The case is a standard DeWalt case that should not crack easily. The sockets are of good quality and will last for a long time. Another perk is that you can go from 3/8" to 1/4" in one set. br>br>I would also recommend getting a 15-piece 1/4" and 3/8" drive tool accessory set to go with this. I can't tell you how many times that has come in handy for me. br>br>With both of those, you should be able to complete most of your tasks as a typical homeowner/auto mechanic. Grab a 1/2" set of breaker bar and a 1/2" set of bolts for those big, big bolts. br>br>Excellent tools with no negative feedback!.
This is a very useful set. I bought this to keep in my truck, and it's already come in handy a couple of times. The case is small enough to fit under the back seat and contains the majority of the necessary sockets. A good emergency kit or a basic household kit. Obviously, if you're a "tool" person, you'll find this set lacking. However, compared to a 200-piece monster set, it is much easier to transport. The case is well-made, and the ability to see the sockets without having to open the lid is a nice feature. I'm not sure how long it'll hold up, though. It does not appear to be as durable as the black case that came with another Dewalt set that I own.
The driver and bits are made of high-quality materials and have proven to be extremely durable thus far. Even if dropped, the bits stay firmly in place and do not fall out. The steel shank has wide flanges stamped into it to prevent the handle from twisting loose over time, and the rubber handle cover is grippy while still feeling good in your hand and doesn't slip around over the plastic handle. This set was chosen because it includes both metric and standard bits, and I've had good luck with DeWALT tools in the past. br>br>Perhaps this organizer box is for you if you enjoy sitting and admiring your tool collection, but I find it to be overly bulky. If you keep your tools in a rolling tool chest or cabinet, you won't need this much protection, and if you keep them in your tool bag or portable tool box, this organizer will take up way more space than you'll want to give up. I put all of the bits in my $10 divided plastic organizer box in my tool bag, which also holds all of my crimp connectors and miscellaneous screws. br>br>Here are a few improvements I'd like to see: br>1) add a knurled section around the driver shank for quick finger turning operationbr>2) add a rubber bit keeper for the nut driver bits, similar to the screwdriver bit keeper.
None of the pieces were able to fit into the driver. Instead of a retention ball or a magnet, the bit is supposed to be held in place by a piece of wire. The wire is too long, preventing the bit from seating deeper than 1/8th inch into the driver. Make a financial plan.
This is something I really enjoy. Yes, a million-piece bit set for $2 can be purchased at Harbor Freight. That's exactly what I did before I bought it. The harbor freight case, on the other hand, was a complete disaster. It had become jumbled. When it rained in my truck, the harbor freight case let all of the moisture in, causing the bits to rust; I had the harbor freight, became frustrated, and purchased this set. I really like the Dewalt socket set version of this, so I bought this bit set. It's fantastic. There are fewer pieces in this case, and it is extremely well organized. It's something I use all the time because it allows me to quickly locate the piece I'm looking for. The screwdriver is of good quality and sturdy construction. It would be nice if it came with an adapter so that the bits could be used in a drill or impact driver. It's not a big deal because I just bought a cheap one and keep it in the case next to the screwdriver. Everything is tipped by organization and a good case.
