You can go to the electrical main box and turn off the switch for the area you're working in if you're doing work that might require an electrical outlet - When you plug it into a working electrical outlet, it will light up. If it doesn't, you don't have any power.
Selected User Reviews For DEKOPRO 208 Piece Tool Set,General Household Hand Tool Kit with Plastic Toolbox Storage Case
This is great for DIY projects around the house; my wife can now fix anything except our teenage son's attitude; there isn't a tool kit on the market that can fix that.
Updated on 17Dec2019br>After three months of use, I discovered that the rubber on some of the tools has worn out. However, if you are not a professional who uses the tools on a daily basis, this set will suffice for the average homeowner. The Hex key wrench set, sockets, and screwdriver bits, in particular, are exceptionally well-made. I use it frequently without issue, and it makes no difference how I set up my Nightforce zero-gravity. Garage openers can either be turned off or on. Metal tools that aren't made of rubber work well.
- br>Review from September 2019br>The entire set is extremely valuable. However, since I bought them about a month ago, a few of them have already broken. This tool set was not something I used on a regular basis. The pliers' and hammer's rubber sides have already fallen off. In general, it's a good set, but the quality isn't up to par.
It is extremely cost effective - truly. It includes all of the components you'll need for small projects around the house on a regular basis, but it's not the set for you if you're looking for frequent use and/or heavy-duty projects. Some of the items I've found to be extremely dependable, and the fact that it's so small means you can always have it on hand without having to store it in a basement or supply closet is fantastic. br>br>My complaint is that the screwdriver is cheap, and the head attachments are suspect - they give you like 20 different heads instead of 5 good ones - I can't even get the heads back into their cases as it stands right now. The pliers are also inexpensive, which is odd because the pliers are the only item in this kit that must withstand pressure. I'm still perplexed as to why scissors are included in any tool set at all - SCISSORS ARE ALREADY IN MY BAG. They occupy space that could be used for something else. needlenose pliers are a good example of this. It was possible that I would have left. It appeals to me. br>br> It does not appeal to me. I didn't spend a fortune on it, though. If you only have a few small projects to complete, I think it's a good deal.
I liked the variety of tools included, though the majority were of a medium to low quality, and pro grade was not expected. This tool set was purchased as a housewarming gift for a newly married couple who had no tools at all. However, until they can afford to replace this starter kit with something nicer, such as De Walt, Milwaukee, or Craftsman, this set will most likely come in handy. Nonetheless, there were three items in the kit that were unquestionably garbage. Before shipping, there is a non-refundable inspection fee. The flashlight and current testing tool would not have made it into the kit if they were not already in existence. Neither of them were successful. We intended to add batteries so that the cheap plastic flash light would at least work, but the bottom spring, which was inaccessible and glued in sideways at the bottom of the flashlight, rendered it unusable because the flashlight could not be screwed back together with batteries in it without stripping the threads, which were already frayed. The batteries were worth more than the flashlight, so we tossed this piece of plastic in the trash. The hammer was also a complete farce, as it was so light and had such a small handle that it could only be used by the tiniest female hands. My hands, which are average for a man's size, swallowed up the hammer, making it look like a children's toy in my hands, and the hammer's head was held on by a set small screw! With this thing, you'll have a hard time hammering anything other than small picture nails into drywall. Finally, the screwdriver with the small light inside that is supposed to detect electrical currents did not work right out of the box. We kept it in the kit to fill a gap that would have otherwise been left empty because I couldn't find one that fit the size opening at Home Depot. I kept this tool kit because it was given to us on the day of the housewarming. This would have gone back if I had a couple of extra days. Order well in advance, as a lesson learned. I went to the hardware store and purchased a $2 piece of equipment. 00 metal LED flashlight to replace the cheap plastic one, as well as a couple of AA batteries to avoid looking completely ridiculous when they opened the package. It was not a pleasant experience. I would not purchase this item again.
The adage "you get what you pay for" is certainly true in this case! I simply wanted a set of inexpensive tools to keep around the house in case my regular toolbox became unavailable. Because they were so cheaply made, I literally threw a number of the items in the trash right out of the box. When I used one of the screw drivers for the first time, it broke. These tools may work if you want to hang pictures in the house or do something extremely simple, but they are incapable of performing any task beyond the most basic of household tasks without breaking.
There are a few tools that have flaws. Torpedo Level is a completely unreliable source of information. On one side, it shows one measure, but when you flip it over, it shows a completely different one. The flashlight had a flaw in it - It has a belt that was supposed to be attached to the body, but it was broken when it arrived. When you first use Ratchet Wrench, it becomes stuck, and you have to constantly fix it, which is very inconvenient. My advice is to: Spend a little more money on a higher-quality tool set.
I'm optimistic, and even though the price is lower, I don't believe these tools are truly inferior in today's world. I don't care for the wire cutters, nor do I care for much else in this box. It either doesn't grip as well as the sockets or I paid too much for it in the first place. This was supposed to be my main go-to toolbox in my Jeep, but it's simply not worth it. I'm a 52-year-old woman with a good sense of humor.
On the side, Granddaughter said, "Grandma, if you're looking for a Christmas gift for me this Christmas, a tool kit would be great. " The one she had was cracked and missing pieces, and it wasn't even close to being a basic set. This set includes everything you need and is ideal for use around the house. Simply grab the case, and she'll have all of the tools she requires in one location. Nice. As a side note, if I had just gone out and replaced the individual tools that she was missing, it would have cost me more in terms of materials and time. I love it when people ask for and need gifts. You're aware of how much they're valued.
