Questions & Answers

When I make arrangements, I need a great pair of wire cutters to cut artificial floral stems. How well will they cut really thick, dense ?

This is the best cutter I've ever used. I make clean cuts on stainless steel wires of 1/16 inch diameter without any You will not be disappointed if you get them!

Can these wire hangers be used for a project that I am doing with some wire hangers?

It is really impressive to see these diagonal cutters in action. Due to their size they are well made, offer good leverage, and are comfortable to hold. However, I am confident they would work for coat hanger wire, since I have never used them on that wire.

Can it be used to cut 14 gauge fencing wire (for rabbit cages) with these? My assumption is that it is, but I was wondering if anyone has actual experience in this area. ?

It is hoped that you will hear from our rabbit community, but just to be sure, the 74 01 140 is capable of cutting up to 1/8-in. Measurements are in inches The 1 mm) medium-sized group A hard wired cabling system 5/64" The height is two inches tall 0.01 mm) hard wire, and 1/16-inch It is approximately 2.5 mm) piano wire. 14 AWG is approximately 1.75 mm. If you're working on a project that's 8 mm squared then this tool may work for you.

Will these be an upgrade to the J2000 Klein sidecutters that walked off at lunch time on the job site?

It's not clear if J2000 Kleins are what you have in mind The closed-end Klein Lineman's pliers I have are of very good quality An angle of curvature on the side of the There's no doubt that these are very similar in their cutting ability, but with a little less leverage due to the Klein's short radius. Nevertheless, the Knipex dykes work well in tight places, and their primary purpose is to cut through the throat of bass that have swallowed soft plastic lures with hardened steel fish hooks. This is one of the larger, thicker hooks I use - it is also hardened. Cutting them with the Knipex is no problem.

Do we still have the right to say the d-word? Is the word dikes also banned by the thought police? I love it
5/5

As an electrician, I am not qualified. Basically a home owner who likes to do as much of the work herself as she can. Aside from that, I'm someone who appreciates Since I was a machine operator for many years before I retired, I like to think that I know something This is the good stuff, Knipex. No other type of pliers are better. Also, they are the most durable. There are some damn nice dikes here. The steel is of excellent quality. Those handle grips are nice and ergonomic. Despite being extremely sharp, the edges are not smooth. In short, they easily cut through small hardware, bolts, brads, staples, and just about anything else that you could possibly want to cut through. Whenever the edges are razor sharp, it is unclear for how long they will stay that way. My life will probably not allow me to discover the answer. The same goes for me. Look, I admit I'm a Knipex fanboy, so I'm expecting it'll take a while. As they are the best. And I am at the point in my life where I no longer buy crap from my enemies. The tools themselves don't seem to be the problem. Do they come at a little bit of a price? That's for sure. Usually, quality comes at a higher cost in the beginning. It keeps you paying over and over again to deal with crap. Once you buy the good stuff, you should not need to buy it again. It is a decision you will never regret. This product is made in Germany and I highly recommend it. Thanks for taking the time to read this.

With a nail, I dented the blade and couldn't use it
3/5

The Knipex 74 01 160 came today, so I tested it against my Channelock 3377. A Knipex Pliers wrench and Cobra Pliers are also in my tool collection and I enjoy using The diagonal cutters I use on a regular basis are used as part of my AV installation. Its hardness and cutting experience are superior to that of the Channelock, both of which I feel surpass those of All was well until I tried cutting a 2mm nail with these knipex. Based on what I knew about the Knipex product catalog, I shouldn't have been concerned. This was no problem for the Channelock 337, which is slightly longer. It could not be cut through by the Knipex, which left a dent and no cutting. In the end, I have a brand new set of Nipex pliers that will not work on the back of the blade when I try to cut fine copper stranded cable. It's hard for me to decide whether to buy Channelock or Knipex because Knipex is double the price of Channelock.

Compared to Klein, this is better
5/5

These are the best side cutters on the market. Klein is what I use and still use as an electrician, mostly residential. usually last about six months to a year. As the cutting edge (tape cut test) declines (still cuts tape, but not as cleanly as new), they may no longer be reliable. After about six months, the Knipex lost a very slight edge but has maintained this edge for almost two years now, still cutting tape better than With regards to cutting bolts, I have removed standard zinc bolts #6, #8, up to 1/4" (as a precaution, I usually do a second pass on hard materials like 1/4" and stainless steel). The wire can be made of steel, copper, aluminum, or a smaller diameter stainless steel wire. On top of that, I drilled a notch in the lid of the hex box. It's quite easy to see how the tool could be misused thanks to its long handles. The price of these machines is pretty high, so I haven't tried cutting a hard carbon steel, like a grade 8 bolt or a slotted channel. The price of these was a bit steep, at first, but then I thought, "Wow, if I'm paying that much for these, they're mighty proud. " . This kept me coming back to "purchase for what you get," and also realized there are reasons they can demand this price. This movie is awesome, and expensive, but awesome. ".

I have never encountered anything better than these cutters! You can rely on Knipex! 100 % of what I said is true No, don't do it This knife cutter from Knipex is exactly what I've been looking for
5/5

This is a hand-made item Ultimately, cutters are the best of the best. There is just no way I can express enough how inexpensive they are, how easy they are to handle, and how high quality they are. In terms of cutting edges, they appear to be invincible to any type of damage, with a very high leverage. It could be coat hangers, wire of heavy gauge, small bolts, or While I have not yet tried to push them to their limits, I know they will endure almost any force you put on them. of these cutters is rated at 3mm hardened piano wire, and I have no doubt they would cut at their capacities without any wear or damage. My experience as an industrial maintenance technician dates back over 15 years and I've worked in a variety of manufacturing and production environments. I am faced with steep challenges with my tools. in my bag adds weight, and each must earn its place as something that I consider to be highly valuable and a "must-have. ". In my bag, I always have a Knipex cutter with me. There might also be some people who call them "dikes" instead. work with a colleague who has the Klein high-risk virus The bag in his backpack contains leverage cutters. It is without a doubt a fine tool, the Klein. The Klein cutters would have been my choice if I had been unaware of these Knipex cutters. My opinion about them is that they are great tools, and I have nothing bad to say about them. - I must say -- I would choose the Knipex if I had to choose between the two Those cutters have replaced all the old cutting pliers I used to have in my tool bag and they are my main go-to items Use for cutting projects that require the most effort. I will not be including my old cutters in my tool bag they are simply unfit for their purpose They are merely toys compared to the old ones, and they are now rotting away.

The fish hook cutter is ideal for cutting fish hooks
5/5

The dikes I used here were the best I've ever encountered. Hardened fish hooks can be easily cut with these machines, and they are very effective. The blades of these scissors are long and thin enough to go down into the throat of a Bass, allowing them to rip apart a Worm Hook from its mouth. Whether you're a fan of catch & release or not You can use these lures to avoid killing the bass that have swallowed a soft plastic lure while bass fishing. There is a rumor that you should simply cut the line and let the hook stay in the fish's gullet - this isn't true. The Texas Department of Parks & Recreation Researchers at Wildlife conducted research that showed fish hooks do not rust out very The majority of the time, large hooks left in the gullet of a bass will kill it.

Not happy with this purchase
3/5

Bought two pairs and will replace them. It looks well built, and it feels I have heard good things about it. This is what I first thought about. They have been broken for a little over a month, and today they won't open or close. One set of 27 dollar cutters lasted me only one month while one set of 7 dollar cutters lasted me over five Cutting coaxial and 12 gauge copper wire is the most difficult action I have ever seen as a cable installer. The grip is uncomfortable, the feel is dull, and the price is too high. Do not buy these, make sure you get Klein tools cutters, they are cost-effective and.
