In my opinion, by
A pair of pliers will cut wire easily and will work well
The tool in question was designed to cut only wire, should not be used to cut any diameter rebar, and I have used it for over 23 years.
Writing to the company that makes them may be a good idea.

I bought a Klein Dike in the past and found that the jaws didn't line up and that the knife was difficult to use. The second purchase should have been better than the first one, but that was not the case. I would not recommend spending this kind It is not a product that I recommend!.
My specialty is carpentry, but I also work in construction in some capacity. Pulling and cutting nails are the main things I do with it. The wire cutter works great, but be careful not to use it while the wire is hot, as they won't work like that afterwards.
This tool did not have any dents or chips when I cut a tap. In the event you receive a malfunctioning One, it is worth sending it back and buying a new one because this is the best diagonal knife It has a wide mouth, a big leverage, and strong There is no way the price can be justified. About 21 dollars is what I paid for mine. There should be a price of at least 40 for these. I purchased.
For the last 8 years or so, I've been using this cutter and it has lasted me for a long time. When I install chain-link fences, I use these to cut the wire. They work perfectly.
The wire cutters I chose helped me save countless dollars I would have wasted on cheap, ineffective ones. Their main use for me is to cut through heavy wire artificial floral stems. They work perfectly and they have saved my hands and I have stayed sane.
This is what I use on a daily basis The hand tools I own from Klein are all It is convenient to have longer handles that provide extra leverage.
