Questions & Answers

One of the measurements of the jaw opening is given, and then there is a measurement for the pipe cap. "Pipe cap" is a term I'm unfamiliar with. Is there anyone who can explain this?

The cap measurement is unfamiliar to me as well, however I presume it may be due to the V jaw, otherwise maybe the cap measurement would be smaller than the jaw measurement?

This pair of pliers would be useful for removing a stuck round adapter from a kitchen faucet, right?

This pair of slip lock pliers is excellent. Instead of a pipe wrench, I would opt to use a locking vise grip for the job at hand

Where do the two differ from each other. We have the number 8 and the number 8. ?

They do not make up in my opinion. Apparently there is only an 8 inch model and that is a typo. I have the three sizes that I am aware of, and they work great! I love how they can be adjusted!

If you want to grip the shower head, you need to know the size of the area you have An inch and a half will be held by this wrench
4/5

There are quite a few sharp teeth on the jaws of these pliers, and almost all of them are liable to mar the finish on plated plumbing fixtures. To summarize, this tool is probably big enough, but you should probably choose a tool that is more appropriate for changing shower heads.

Here is a piece of it
5/5

The hand tool is of high quality. This is a very nice piece of work. The volume of hand tools that I own and use is more than 99% of the total While I worked for many years in the construction industry, I have also tinkered at home, including doing all my own auto repairs while working with wood, sheet metal, cable television, electrical devices as well as steel buildings. When I was a teenager, my girlfriend lived on the other side of town, and I had a clunker car. Having to pay a mechanic was not an option for me. In the case of someone's car being broken and him being broke, he learned real quickly to get his car running so that he could track down the one who got his Over the years I have bought a book and the tools I need, and my tool stash has grown. As a submarine builder at the Electric Boat Corporation, I also installed my duct work fittings in many homes and commercial premises. During my childhood, I grew up in a rundown building in a slum neighborhood and worked every Saturday cleaning and making repairs, while all my friends went to the field to play It doesn't matter what kind of tool I use ( of more than one kind) - I know how to use them. Are you a fan of craftsman products that were made in the USA and were backed by a lifetime warranty? My collection of them is still large, and I would not accept a new one if it was offered free of charge. This is not worth the aggravation of using a cheap device. A different commentary would be to say it's not worth the effort to know one. At the moment, all my tools are in storage three states away, so I needed something to attach my new Pur water filter to my faucet. I was able to accomplish the task easily using these. Finished the job in under 5 minutes from start to finish, including pouring a nice glass of I like these pliers because they are tight and not sloppy at all. With their easy width adjustment, they are extremely convenient to use. My favorite part about this is how unexpected it is. Often, when I pick up pliers after setting them down for a minute or releasing tension, I will find they have slipped to a broader size and need readjusting. is quite the hassle, since it requires two hands, and you're never going to have two hands to spare when you're in the middle of a task. On the other hand, holding something in place while removing it to adjust a tool can mean a whole lot of work getting it back in place. Everything has to be reset again and again until the tool comes up with the result you need. I hope you get the point I'm trying to make? Your back will be on your left side if you lie down on it When you're trying to get at something under a car, and a pliers like this is the only tool you can use, you really need it to remain in place, For example, let's just take one. My normal approach to a lousy pair of pliers would not be to wax poetic, but these aren't lousy at all. It wasn't that I wanted to spend that much on pliers, but they were about the only tool I saw suitable for my task without having to buy a big set of tools I didn't want. As a result, It is common for pliers to be poorly constructed and have a When they have rubber handle covers, they slip off easily. If they wobble, their handles bounce back and forth. Companies don't seem to take it seriously, just because it's a tool and not a concept. There may be a reason for this because it is the type of tool that is mostly used by non-professionals It is frustrating for pros who do not have the correct tools for the job, or do not even know what the correct tools are. It is, however, sometimes a do-everything tool that is best suited to an emergency, especially in times of crisis. In addition, it's an original vise-grip brand tool, so there's no reason why you shouldn't get it. It's the kind of tool you would keep in your glove box if you did not have a toolbox full of tools in your trunk. Carrying one and a couple others, like regular and Phillips screws, could be helpful. There is no need to use this on tiny (1/2" or less) or giant (2" or larger) diameter items, but if you need pliers for the majority of things, this size is what you will need. You could technically use them for items less than 1/2 inch wide, but smaller ones will usually work better, especially in tight spaces where a larger pair won't fit. The convenience of having pliers or vise grips is one reason they are useful. When you can't get the proper tool in there without removing a bunch of things, you are left with no option but to remove all the other stuff. People who don't know better aren't the only ones who can make use of them. *****If you do want a pair of pliers, then here it is. You are reading this, so I assume you really want pliers, or else you wouldn't be reading it. This review is posted in the hope that at least someone can benefit from it. Since, if you reach just one person, you will say, "Hey, why did I not reach more?"? -) God bless you.

Make sure you are buying from a reputable source
3/5

Having read this, you can tell it is in a good way. Whenever a tie rod needs to be adjusted, I reach for my tie rod adjustment pliers. We do a large volume of alignments in my shop, and I always grab these. As a person with a smaller hand, I find these to comfortably fit my hand. They have been used every day of every week for the past 3 years without any All the abuse they had still worked great. The only issue was that the hand grips were worn out, but that was understandable due to oil saturation and simple In fact, the teeth still had a good bite. I own a set of three of these pliers, but I only use one of them on a regular basis, the GV8s.

So why do I urge buyers to exercise caution? In my opinion, Irwin has two identical GV8 models, but I believe the lower quality one to be the better quality one. It is common for some of the locked mechanisms to have silver dots on each side. You should stay away from them. The guy in my shop actually bought me a pair after I asked if he had seen mine laying around. I hated the feel of them and I found the locking mechanism didn't work half the time. The shape of them is different as well. As the grips get farther apart, they get narrower.

It is very soft to touch your teeth
5/5

The product is not worth the money. Those handles are very nice, and I like the quick set button as well. Using the jaws only once a month leads to wear already after two months. The pliers work well and feel good, but I not a fan of the jaw grooves. It is not a purchase I would make A brief update. Those are a waste of time. like the quick set of these, much like Krupex, but Irwin, don't you think that you should- I can't believe how soft the teeth are. It only lasted a few uses before they wore out. There's more to it than that, too. As well as the linemen, they are exhausted. A metal that is soft, soft, soft. The only reason I changed my rating to 2 stars is that I like the rapid set feature.

The tool is excellent
4/5

The pliers are for cutting. Their effectiveness can be seen. There seems to be a lot of substance to them. A good shape can be found in the jaws - Pliers for the surface). As well as being very comfortable to hold. In terms of the mechanism, it does not share the tongue and groove design as the Chanellocks many of us are accustomed to, but it took me about two seconds to get used to their push button design, and I find it to be easier to adjust the opening size to exactly what you want. Considering I don't use tools like this very much, I can't speak to how long-term it will be Long-term durability was not what I was looking for, but I see nothing that indicates they will ever fail.

It can be used for Preventive Maintenance work around the house or simply to clean
4/5

In addition to seeing my other technicians use this pair of shoes awhile back when I began performing preventive maintenance, I also purchased a pair for In contrast, I have to admit that this pair of shoes is fantastic and can pretty much get into most places where I'd There is a sliding lock feature, which lets you change the size of what you are turning, which is definitely an advantage. My preference is that I just press a button to change the size for any kind of call or job I have at the time.

There is one con to this pair - the handle cover tends to fall off over time because the adhesive wears The handle cover was slipping off when I was gluing in the handle, so I had to use my own glue. This never really works half of the time. It depends on what you're trying to turn in, when the handle cover starts to fall I have used my pair of channel locks as hammers in some cases, but it never broke whatever I used it for No matter what. It isn't a wise idea to do this if you want to keep your channel locks in decent condition. Anyway, I know you're probably reading through half of the Amazon reviews, since I was going through them at the same time. There are obviously pros and cons to each channel lock when it comes to pairing a pair, but as far as I'm concerned, this is the best. In conclusion, all I can say to IRWIN is find a way for the glue not to start wearing out on the handle covers after long periods of use.
