My cutter does not contain a "made in" stamp, nor did it come with any information about the country it is made in.
You are right. Our method of cutting Seamark is to use a laser. The top has a Sunbrella finish and the undercoating has a polyester finish. The fumes are stronger than normal, so the area needs to be vented.
That's exactly what I meant. Using Top Notch 11 acrylic canvas from Sunbrella, I used it with Sunbrella's outdoor acrylic canvas. A great deal of success has been had with 5 oz polyester, nylon webbing, and polyester webbing. Neither Dyneema nor vinyl will be harmed by this machine since it cuts all fabrics that melt before they char. (They both burn, making a sooty mess, rather than melting into a goo first, which is then burnt and left in a sooty mess)
Yes, that is the case

The previous hot knife I used failed after being used for 3 years. As I used it quite a bit, first the Micro switch for the trigger failed, then the temperature control failed as well I cut a lot of Sunbrella with the Hot Knife, so I had to get a replacement very quickly. As I was hesitant to buy the same brand as before, I discovered this one from Devandy_Tool_US, wow! at my house the next day (thanks to Amazon Prime!)
Upon receiving the package, I wondered what else was inside, since it is so heavy! This tool is about three times heavier than the previous one in weight, but it's not too difficult to handle. It took the new hot knife just one hour to cut 3 panels of sunbrella. We cut 40' feet total in 3 pieces with the new hot knife. I had no problems with the cut, it was clean throughout. My next step was to trim the corners of the hemmed panels so that they were even after sewing them together (for a boom tent). The Sunbrella is layered six times You're in good hands! We did not notice any splaying around the edges, which was to be expected. As there is no temperature control, I was worried the knife would burn because it is too hot. (On the old one, I would set the temperature to the maximum to cut satisfactorily. ) On a long cut, it is not necessary to hold the trigger for 3 seconds and then release it for 2 seconds. This is 3 on I am looking for a knife that will last for years. This item was backed by a 12-month warranty. Yes, yes, yes! There is a trigger! There's no question that this is a keeper. I recommend it highly.
It was not something I thought I would ever need, but since I was planning a boat cover project, I decided to invest a little more in I am so impressed with how much easier it works than the soldering iron I used to use. Despite its speed and cleanliness, it cuts quickly. Here are two things to keep in mind when using this It has no temperature control 1) In practice, this means that you should limit your "on" time to about 15 seconds at a time. Usually, you will have made your cut in this time, so it's not a problem. You don't want to start cutting too quickly when it hasn't reached temperature. It takes a few seconds to come up to temperature. 3) Put a glass plate underneath My first attempt was with an aluminum ruler, but, due to a sharp(ish) blade, it would dig into the work and cause a dragging motion. The same can not be said for glass plates.
This soldering gun is much faster than the one I was using with a hot knife attachment on a Weller 140W soldering gun. When you use this tool the blade will become red hot after a few seconds, so you should turn it on for 3 seconds and then off for a second while making your Because I do not want to overheat the blade (to ensure that it lasts as long as possible), I haven't let it get hot enough to use the thermostatic cutoff. My first attempts at using it have cut about 50 linear feet of fabric, so I will update after using it for a while.
I highly recommend this tool because it's easy to use and works exceptionally well. Despite its simple design, it is made well and it heats up quickly for efficient and effective use. Similarly, it works very well for cutting nylon cord/rope to prevent it unraveling by applying heat to the cut to seal it. Using this Hot Knife will help keep Sunbrella materials from fraying and ragged edges so that they do not fray.
With the trigger flipped on and off a few seconds at a time, the blade cut quickly and cleanly, making the task pretty I am so happy I got this knife!.
With no problem, it can cut several layers of 1000D Cordura as well as mil-spec webbings and cordage. In addition to the technique others have mentioned, I cut on a sheet of tempered glass using the 'on for three seconds, off for three seconds' method. I can throw anything at it and it just slides right through Thus far, it has proven to be a great tool!.
I had to make 20 new covers for patio furniture and these made the process so quick. There were no four sizes the same, and these made sealing the edges of outdoor fabric so simple. Keep in mind to hold for 3 seconds, cut, and then heat again for 3 seconds, do not allow the heat to get to hot or the knife may shut off automatically to avoid overheating. Works great for zippers to help seal an edge. Would highly recommend.
It cuts Sunbrella fabric like a dream, is heavy duty, and comes with a long cord.
