Questions & Answers
The cutting blade is a 75. Opens to a distance of approximately.
They cut through IRON nails (such as framing or finishing nails) with ease, but they do not cut through STAINLESS SCREWS.
They do not cut flush, as you may know. I use them for cutting on occasion, but mostly to pull finishing nails through trim. I'm guessing it'll be around 1/16 of an inch. After that, I hammer the nail to the side, which seems to work.

I've tried many different nail clippers, but this is by far the best; even the high-end brands don't compare. Before installing radiant floor heating in a basement, I used this to clip nails. In each 16-foot framing bay of a 1000-square-foot house, I clipped over 100 nails. That's tens of thousands upon thousands upon thousands upon thousands upon thousands upon thousands upon thousands upon thousands upon The cutting surface of this tool is completely free of chips. Remember that if you pry on a nail and lose grip, allowing it to slide, the hardened cutting surface WILL chip because the harder metal is brittle in this direction. The offset cutter and higher leverage point make it easier to read tight spaces. From flooring nails to standard 3" nails and even 4" galvanized nails, we've got you covered. This tool is capable of completing the task at hand. When this tool is used against a flat surface with easy access, I estimate the protruding remnant to be 1/32 or less. Depending on your needs, you can easily grind this flat or leave it alone.
My house had a monster who hung the light fixture. Toggle bolts with heads that were larger than the keyholes were used. One of them was inserted at a very oblique angle. Both had been stripped down to their essentials. With a slotted screwdriver, I couldn't get the fasteners out more than an inch. I would have happily ripped out the bolts and simply repaired the drywall, but I couldn't get a hold of them or the fixture to do so. br>br>I'm short and don't feel very strong or at ease working above my head, especially with a power saw. The angle of normal bolt cutters is off. So I ordered them after reading some reviews to ensure they could handle a couple of 1/4" or smaller threaded fasteners. I'd rather spend $60 on these than risk a head injury or damage to my hands or eyes. br>br>It took me less than 5 minutes to put the fixture up, with the majority of that time spent moving from one step stool to the next while a friend held the center. Knipex tools are pricey, but they're well-made, well-balanced, and a joy to use. br>br>UPDATE: October 2020 I was desperate because I didn't have any flush cutters or other cutters. Because these cutters aren't razor-sharp, they're ideal for gripping and gently rolling three-dimensional objects. So you don't get all scratched up, make 4 inch brads out of drywall. It'll come in handy if you need to remove trim to get to the edges of your sewage-soaked carpet in the middle of the night to pull it out. You do the same thing.
I had to go to the bathroom- I couldn't get a good grip on a bolt with regular bolt cutters, and I couldn't do it with anything I found at Home Depot, so I went online and found these. That bolt's head was easily snipped off by them. Unfortunately for my wallet, I was enamored with the build quality and feel of the product. I had so many of these things in my hands that I entered a full-fledged panic attack. Knipex overdosed, and the following week I purchased at least 7 more of their tools. They follow the standard pattern for high-end products. German tools at the end: They are of excellent quality, perform admirably, and cost only two dollars. They should be paid three times as much as they are. On the plus side, I expect to use these for at least 20 years, so they're not as expensive as they appear.
While I waited for these to arrive, I bought a cheap pair of Irwin snips from the home improvement store, which were a nightmare to use. Blisters and pain were the only things I could think of. It couldn't handle some of the nails. These snips, on the other hand, can handle the same load and more with just one hand and minimal effort; if I could afford it, I'd replace all of my pliers with Knipex models. They never cease to amaze me with their abilities.
They sliced right through my nails, and I noticed a chip at the end. I'm going to order another pair because it could have been a user error on my part, and I'll be more cautious with the next pair. If this pair fails, I will re-enter the competition. Update your review of this product. My project has been put on hold for the time being.
The extra money spent on this tool is well worth it. I attempted, but failed, to trim some exposed nails in my patio woodwork a few days ago. Because my regular nipper couldn't make the cuts, I decided to invest in this new tool. Today, I used the tool on the same job, and it cut like butter down to about 1/64 inch (close enough for me). The job did not harm the tool, but I will be more cautious about how much pressure I use in the future to protect my investment. I recommend this tool. It does not let you down.
I'm a 73-year-old woman, and squeezing the handles was no problem for me. This set of cutters is one of my favorites.
KNIPEX 61 02 200 Comfort Grip High Leverage End-of-Arm Leverage Cutters- Bolt Cuttersbr>br>I purchased this tool to complete a specific task - clipping some roofing nails poking through the sheathing in a cramped attic I also have a number of other end-of-the-line items. Cutting a roofing nail with nippers, nippers, nippers, nippers, nippers, nippers, ni It's a one-handed, easy squeeze with this Knipex. It's almost unbelievable how simple it is. With a strong squeeze, these cutters can cut up to 16 penny nails and even 20 penny nails. The pivot point on the cutter head is very close to the cutters, allowing for a lot of leverage. This handcrafted item's handle covers Germany's equipment is outstanding - thick, durable, and cozy. These cutters, on the other hand, will barely dent hardened (Grade 5 or harder) machine screws/nails, as well as stainless steel screws. A reciprocating saw with a hacksaw blade can be used on both metal types. The jaws will chip and be ruined if you force this tool to cut hardened screws/nails – I did that with my first Knipix and filed a "complaint" via the Knipix website, and they sent me a free replacement tool. All I had to do was return the old tool; they didn't even require a receipt. I have a well-equipped workshop and have never spent this much on a small hand tool. br>br>Customer service gets six stars. br>br> If you're looking for a great set of end-of-year gifts, this is the place to go. You won't find a better pair of nippers for mild steel nails or machine screws.
