The tool is excellent You can save money on the plumber and have a tool in your pocket for the future
5/5

When a few plumbers bid on moving a bathtub drain and some plumbing lines in my bathroom, I thought that it would be a good idea to bring them in. A company quoted me almost three grand, so I brought somebody in for $600 to take a scan of the post tension slab and figure out exactly where the cables are (yes, it was a lot, but you didn't My decision to do it myself was made when they did it. In all, I spent about $900 in tools/materials and rented a jackhammer, and I saved about $2K, as well as having some experience and tools to assist me in the future. *To the tool.

Due to my woodworking hobby, I am used to quality tools, and I always know how they should react. I purchased the IWISS IWS-85M however, I now own the IWISS IWS-35M With about 10 connections, I did not need a high-end tool and decided I could get away with the 1234W. Reviewers also praised the book. The first thing I noticed upon receiving the tool was its ease of use. I was concerned about the box's size because it was smaller than I anticipated. It's the red one in the picture, and as you can see it's barely larger than a pair of scissors. An additional connector and scrap pipe were used as test instruments. I kept an open mind throughout. The crimping of a 3/4" PEX ring turned out to be practically impossible. This tool is just too small and awkward to use when crimping, and it does not give accurate feedback. But I do a lot of my work myself including masonry fireplaces, BBQs, walls, etc. I work with it every day and enjoy it very much. While it was a successful test, at least according to the gauge, with uncertain tool feedback for a complete crimp, and the awkwardness/difficulty in crimping, I returned it and bought this F1807 kit instead. The only thing I was concerned was the quality of connections, and given that it was water, a leak would cause extensive damage, and given that I had just spent 4 months making the cabinets, vanity, and a couple of barn doors, I did not want to risk damage. I have included a F1807 kit with this. In comparison to the orange unit, this kit costs $20 more. You can see in the photos that it is a bit larger than it. The tool also comes with a ring removal tool, which is useful if you just don't know whether you made the crimp correctly or you made a bad one. The cost really only needs to be paid for by one mistake. The unit can crimp 1" PEX and 3/8", so it is more versatile than what I was using as a test. Also, the unit can crimp up to 1" PEX, as well as 3/8", so it is more economical. When I test crimped it, it is easy to crimp, solid, and gives a good feeling when Compared with the other unit, it is light years better. As a result, I ended up completing my bathroom quickly, and to my surprise, without any mistakes, and most importantly without any With this new appliance, I feel much more confident than I did with the smaller unit, so now I am able to tackle any plumbing project without hesitation. A 10" lag for a TV mount found itself dead center in a PEX pipe approximately 9 months ago. While my insurance company paid out about $1800 for that little mistake, since I did the flood remediation and drywall repair myself, I was fortunate to recover the No matter what, I did not want to mess with the plumbing. However, now that I have this tool, it seems as though it makes no sense to mess with the plumbing. This is crazy, because I will break open a door or window and tackle any DIY project, construction or construction project, but two things make me nervous. The electrical and plumbing systems in the house. So at last I can scratch off indoor plumbing from my to-do list. In any case, while this tool costs $20 more than that other kit, it's worth twice as much in value as that other tool. Having a large size helps in tight spaces, but I doubt that would be the case very often. The design of the head and the ability to crimp 3/4" PEX at the back means that I do not see a big difference in terms of the head proving useful for tight spaces, but the action of the handle opening sure does as this device becomes extremely large when opened. In my case, it was of no concern. It may make sense if you're working in a crawl space, a small closet, or a tight corner, but if that's the case, make the extra $65 investment for a second As a result of its difficulty to use, awkwardness and lack of feedback, I would only use it when I had no choice and wouldn't/did not keep it as the only tool I used. As a result, I feel much more confident with the F1807 since it is easier to use, gives more consistent and better As a result of using this tool, I am more than pleased and I would advise you to skip pizza if you are trying to save $20. If you buy a smaller tool, you will end up wasting money.

Ordered the long one but should have ordered the Quality of the highest order
4/5

With plenty of power and a strong build. The long model was ordered because I thought I would need the extra torque/power the longer handle would provide, but the extra length ended up limiting my work spaces, particularly behind my toilets, if I tried to work there. My feeling is that the short handled model would have plenty of power and be able to do more.

There is no doubt that this pex tool is the best out there! I just finished my small pex plumbing project and I found the tool to be very useful
5/5

I chose to use pex crimp rings instead of clamps since the rest of my house is pex crimp rings. Priced at less than other crimp tools of similar quality, this tool was great. As we all know, I hate cheap tools, but this one seemed to be well made. There really seemed to be a lot of quality to it. It was extremely handy to have the tubing cutter as well as the tool to remove the crimp rings. A little bit of plumbing is what I have done over the years, including sweating copper, ABS/PVC drains, etc. Pex was my first experience with the program, and I found it pretty easy to use. There was no leak, so I guess everything turned out fine. The following are some things that 1) I mainly used 1" pex on this project. They now have a big sticker on the lid of the box to remind you that the 1" jaws are the plain tool without any inserts. Although I had already seen some reviews of it, thanks to others I was already aware of it We will be following this up. 1) You are almost certainly NOT going to be able to undo an existing connection and pull it apart. I used my dremel with a cutting wheel to remove the copper crimp ring from one existing connection. Honestly, I could not imagine how that could possibly come apart, so I cut it off and re-glued it This section has been done. 3) Remember the work you need to do with this tool A place. It is necessary to open up the arms wide in order to get the tool to fit around the pipe. Angle of view is much wider than that of, for example, In the space, there were a couple of connections that I was unable to access because I couldn't open the arms wide enough. There were a number of things I had to work around. For anyone finding themselves in tight quarters, I would recommend trying a different device. Depending on how many connections you have, it may be best to use one of the offset crimpers, or a small block style crimper (if you do not have many). 4) My tool came calibrated, but I did burn a single 1" ring with a spare piece of pipe and a pex fitting to make sure it worked. It would be a good idea if you did the same. 5) The way the go/no-go gauge is made on this tool really doesn't appeal to me. A double sided one with each size in neither 'go' nor 'no go' would have been much better than the 'combo' design with a hole that tests for both go and no go. It took me a lot of time to think about which crimps I made, but they still seemed better than those professional plumbers made years ago when my house was built. It was easy for me to go slowly and take my time. In summary, we have no Very good tool. I strongly recommend it. I am very pleased with this purchase because it is heavy-duty and has good.

The fittings can be swapped with no problem, and the crimp can also be replaced
4/5

An excellent tool that works according to its description. This is my first time operating PEX, but it was fairly straightforward to swap fittings and crimp without any issues. You should definitely run a test crimp or two before installing permanently, and keep in mind that the handles need to be able to be opened almost 180 degrees, so this isn't a good solution for getting into tight spaces. You would be well served to plan how you will make your connections and to assemble as much as you can before anchoring or installing the final crimp.

It works perfectly and is as described
5/5

A few months ago, I purchased a pex wrench that would not form the right crimp edge and was already adjusted to its maximum. At the local store, the staff didn't know what to do, so they allowed me to My immediate reaction upon receiving it was to read through the instructions (keep in mind I've already done pex with someone else's wrench). Given those facts, further instructions regarding how to use the wrench and how to place the copper rings might be needed. While I was almost going to save a few dollars on the one without a copper ring remover, I decided against it since there were certain copper rings that I would need to remove. Great job removing the ring with the ring remover! My heart was so glad to have Only complaint I have is I couldn't locate on Amazon where the wrench was made and I don't buy items made in China, but when I received the wrench it had a sticker on the outside of the package indicating that (I support items made in the United States.
