Questions & Answers

This tool has the ability to crimp both insul and non-insul Why would someone bother investing in the 1006 crimper when they already have insulation ferrules?

There appears to be no difference between insulated and non-insulated units in the 1005 Using insulated connectors and terminals. An indicator of the tool type (NON vs INS) is stamped on the end of the tool. In contrast to the 1006, which only performs non-critical tasks The 10-foot long one is insulated The first one is for 12 and the second Specifically, it seems like the Klein website suggests that the 1005 NON and the INS can accommodate 10-inch displays A 1005 was the best choice for me.

The plastic insulation on the end of the terminal is always crushed, bulged, flattened and cracked every time I use crimpers Do you have any suggestions for completing this task?

The Klein crimper has two surfaces, a crimping surface that has a more pronounced nub, and a critiquing surface with a flat surface. Insulated terminals have a flatter surface that is located closer to the pivot point. That being said, the softer surface may also be used successfully for crimping insulated ends. In addition, there are material factors involved in producing the terminal like the quality of the insulation on the terminal and its actual construction. The cable I use can be either stranded or solid, depending on the application, for automotive DC and 120/240 AC. The neatest job can be achieved using non-toxic products In the event that the terminals are insulated and heat shrink tubing is applied to them, the crimped terminal is less noticeable. If you do not buy cheap components, you will get Wires that are loose can cause a fire, allowing your circuit to exhale all the smoke.

What are the options for crimping stainless steel ferrules suited for 3/8" wires?

This type of wiring is perfect for automotive use. A wire connector that fits 16 gauge wire

Can the Klein 1005 crimper be used with an open barrel connector?

With this highly highly regarded tool, wire can be cut or crimped, or open barrels can be crimped.

Crimping tools from CRIMIT are THE BEST available in the marketplace
5/5

I think they are THE BEST electrical crimping tools you can find. I have tried a number of brands and have never had a problem. It's a necessity for me, since I work in automotive repair. I use these all day long Most often, however, I only find out about the tool when I find out someone else left it in their car. (People don't bring back tools that don't belong to them even when they know they do not own In addition to Snap on, I have tried Cornwell (which I would say is second best), Irwin brand (it makes Vise Grips), The Cresent Brand, Thomas & Betts, Henceforth, I will only choose Klein from here on out.

These cables are great for what they are, but they are not perfect
4/5

When you use the right wire and the right terminal, you are in for a big surprise! The shaft provides lots of leverage, and it feels very solid. It is narrow enough to fit in awkward spaces. It has been my experience that the uninsulated crimp die does not perform well for integrated heat shrink type terminals (which I frequently use) In most cases, with wires at the smaller end of the specified range, the heat shrink will split or the crimp will not be strong enough. Throughout its lifetime, it has done a great job of insulating vinyl or plastic terminals. So far, I have not tested it on uninsulated terminals. This is a great tool overall, but you may want to use it as part of your arsenal rather than relying on it for everything you do Crimper all the way.

Despite its well-made nature, the design is poor

In both cases, I tried it with two different brands (and ferrule thicknesses) of insulated buttsplices. When using the insulated slot, it failed to crimp either of them sufficiently to hold the wires in place. It held the wire well in the non-insulated slot, but the insulation had been damaged by the process.

However, this one is by far the best of the lot

You won't need to spend a lot on it. You should stop using cheap crimping tools and get this one! It takes me longer than I care to remember to heat shrink crimp AWG 8 through 22 with a variety of tools, but none of them are as good as this one. I don't want to spend significant amounts of money on Whenever Klein tools are used, they always deliver on their promise of In addition, when you show up with a pouch full of Klein tools, it immediately commands respect from those around you. The plastic can have the tendency to tear with this tool, as with any crimp tool. once you have tried a few of them, you will be able to see for yourself how to do it without any problems. This tool would have been extremely helpful to me from the very beginning.

The feel of the phone is solid, it works well, and the phone is made in America

There are a lot of great things about these The search for a quality set of trailer wiring began after a trailer wiring fiasco in which wires fell out of crimped connectors. It somehow came back to me when an old electrician I used to know once told me that Klein was the only brand of tools he used to work with. That's how these ended up in my hands. Since I've never used them before, all I've used are cheapo' sets from China, which felt flimsy and had rubber grips that would slide off during crimping or bend awkwardly when crimped. It is then possible to "crimp", which is when electrical wires are later allowed to slide from As for me, I'm not an electrician, just a guy who wires stuff around the house, the boat, or on a It will be easier to establish secure connections with these. There is a reason the description lists them as "Imported", but on the handle it states "Made in USA. " As well, the Klein website says they are made in the USA. I guess that's all there is to it.

This is an excellent Crimpers are the best I have used so far
5/5

It is easy for me to pick up a tool and play with it before I use it, so I know if it is a good tool before I use it. A week after buying one and rewiring two Polaris RZR1000 models along with their accessories, I received them and put a lot of use into them. Very happy with my purchase. This tool is great for cutting wires and does not bind, the crimpers are positioned ahead of the Apex, so you have good mechanical advantage and are able to put a neat crimp on both insulated and non-insulated conductors Terminals insulated from each other. Klein is a brand I like, and I like to do some research before I buy a tool, so this was the place everyone mentioned to me. My hope is that I can help you in the same way.

This is a product that is durable, fast, and extremely high in This device is extraordinarily easy to use and there is a LOT of cutting and crimping leverage involved
5/5

I have used them to cut very thick wire almost with aluminum as well (I wouldn't recommend for this as it will fill up Over seven months ago, I began using these every day at my job. And they haven't let me down yet. Klein has always been someone I trust, and this is one more reason to stay that way.

Crimps are flawless using this quality tool made in the USA
5/5

Invest in a crimp tool instead of any other. It's a great tool that you can use every day and you'll have it for years to come. Clips that are not insulated can be inserted in a slot for crimps that are insulated. On the end there is also a wire cutter that cuts even the thinnest particles of wire without folding it over the teeth as inferior tools do. The tool is smooth and will not overcrimp where other tools have failed. As far as I am concerned, I have had no trouble with this tool at all when using it on insulated crimps (heat shrink type).
