It's flimsy as hell. br>2) All but one of the die sets have been cast and prepped flawlessly. br>3) I believe it is because of the poor fit. The dies have a hard time disengaging from the handle because of the finish. br>br>In my opinion, the ratcheting handle is the only thing of any value in this kit. The die fit and finish are exactly what you'd expect from a kit from the 20th century. 30 range. If you're looking for a quick change die setup, you'll be much better served with other manufacturers, in my opinion.

Heat shrink connections are a breeze with this tool. Every crimp is tight and consistent, and the ratcheting is smooth and consistent. You couldn't tell the difference between Klein and these if you put them on the side. br>br>Recommendation: br>br> sell each type of modular jaw separately; I'm not looking to spend a lot of money on a complete set.

This is the crimper I should have bought the first time around. I had previously purchased the Klein branded crimper after hearing that it was preferable to the Ticonn branded crimper. This crimper crimped both heat shrink and plain insulated connectors properly. I was crimping 16-inch wires in particular. Wires with a gauge of 18 awg and "red" connectors. The Klein crimper failed to crimp both types of connectors, allowing the wires to be easily pulled off. Furthermore, crimping of heat shrink connections caused insulation to be damaged (torn). On my 16-foot long cable, the Haisstronica crimper produced perfect crimps on both insulated and heat shrink connections. There was no damage to the heat shrink material, and the wire was tested for pull out before shrinking, and it passed.

I took a chance on these after reading that they work with standard wire connectors, and I'm happy to report that they do. I wasn't sure if I wanted to use the new heat shrink connectors, but I already had heat shrink tubing, so I got these and am now prepared for either. They grip and release easily; I'm not sure why some people say they don't, but they do. They were used right out of the package. Another tool I'm glad I finally purchased; these are far superior to the old squeeze crimpers, and I used them with 22 gauge wire and matching red connectors to achieve a completely closed crimp. The wire was not yanked out.

The feature I like best is the ability to adjust the tightness of the crimp around the wire, as well as the fact that it locks as you crimp, making it simple to keep the connection from falling out or turning the wrong way. If you're going to do any automotive wiring, this is a must-have item.
