Questions & Answers

Will it slowly lay a fine (1 to 2/16 inch) bead? The term "slowly" refers to a linear foot that is greater than 20. Is it really only thirty seconds?

I wouldn't use it for fine-tuning or detail work. I recently completed a door and two windows and was unable to achieve a clean bead with a 3/16" hole. Because it was outside, I cleaned up the excess until it was "good enough," but it wasn't quite as nice as if I had used a manual gun. When you let go of the trigger, this unit releases the pressure. You press the trigger to get the caulk to flow again, and the plunger builds up pressure for a few moments. Because the plunger backs off with each release of the trigger, you can't "bump" it to get a small amount of caulk. This "feature" aids in the prevention of caulking, but the slowest speed is easily 2-minutes. For clean detail work, it's three times faster than I'd like.

What kind of battery and charger should I get for this gun?

This gun can be powered by any 18v Ryobi battery. One of the best features of Ryobi's new lithium ion batteries is that they are designed in the same shape and style as their older nickel batteries. This means that any battery in the 18v range will work with any tool. Additionally, you can frequently find the larger, more powerful 4 amp batteries 2 for $100 on the internet, which is significantly less than most other comparable brands, which charge anywhere from $100 to $150 for just one battery. The smaller 18v 1 is what I use. With this tool, a 5 amp battery is sufficient.

Is there a swivel on the cartridge?

No, you can pull it out and it will be pulled back in by the motor.

The Forearm Saver is a device that allows you to save your forearm This is a fantastic invention that is well worth the money; caulking a room takes longer as I get older, and I need to take more breaks to rest my muscles
5/5

This battery-powered device It's incredible how powerful a caulking gun can be. With no arm fatigue and perfect lines that I couldn't achieve with a hand-pumped gun, I can complete all of the trim in a room in a minute or two. When purchasing these, there are a few things to keep in mind. There is a learning curve here, as you must understand which setting to use for which type of job and how quickly to move. On the highest setting, the tube will be emptied in no time. They're a little heavy, but that doesn't stop you from using them because you're done so quickly. Overall, I adore this caulk gun and consider it to be one of my most useful tools.

With the exception of a minor design flaw, this is an excellent product
4/5

This item is fantastic, especially for the price. However, I've discovered a minor design flaw that the manufacturer should address: the plunger won't tighten down, causing the caulk to leak out the back side of the tube, clogging the insides. I took it out and cleaned as much as I could. I tightened the plunger with a small lock washer and it works fine; I wish I had thought of it before I messed it up, but oh well. I went out and bought a second one, which I fixed in the same way. They're fantastic weapons.

This is a fantastic product that does exactly what it says on the tin
5/5

To prevent backflow, I inserted a washer into the plunger before using it. You can't stop the flow, according to some reviews. When you're finished, simply withdraw the plunger.

I have never owned a better caulking gun
5/5

I have never owned a better caulking gun. I'm constructing a house in a remote part of Alaska with the assistance of my wife and daughter. I bought this to see if it would help my 15-year-old 95-pound daughter get liquid nails (Glue) out of the regular old-fashioned squeeze type caulking gun. br>br>I don't think I'll be able to get this from her any time soon. It's something she really enjoys. It is extremely simple to implement. The glue/caulk is released by simply pressing the trigger. It has a variable speed setting, allowing you to put down a large or small amount of material. br>br>I don't write many reviews, but when I do, they are either extremely positive or extremely negative. This is a purchase that is well worth your money. On a side note, I've had great success with the Ryobi 18v Cordless Drill.

Bread that has been sliced? This is the best thing since sliced bread, as my grandfather used to say
5/5

He was born back when grocery stores didn't have the capability of slicing and selling bread. This Ryobi caulking gun is the best thing to happen to mankind since sliced bread. Sealing concrete between the driveway and the house was a big job for me. Wow, I was able to apply three tubes of caulk in a matter of minutes using this tool. It would have taken me a long time to do it the old fashioned way by hand pumping, and you can control the speed at which the caulking flows to get the perfect size bead for your project. DO IT! The first time you use it, you'll get a refund.

For large jobs, it works well, but for smaller jobs, it lacks control
4/5

This tool is fantastic for someone like me who has arthritis and small hands. It's lightweight and portable, and it's ideal for large caulking jobs, particularly those involving heavy caulk, such as sanding caulk into a cracked block wall. For two reasons, I rated it four stars: It's difficult to control at first. You can't control it well enough to make a good-looking visible bead even if you turn it all the way down and keep the hole in the caulk tube small. Second, it has a tendency to blow out the caulk tube's end, resulting in a mess all over the push-button. rod end. Cleaning up is difficult because there are so many caulk-filled nooks and crannies. I eventually resorted to covering the push-button controls with plastic newspaper bags. As it moves up the caulk tube, the rod should be completely protected. When the caulk squeezes out the back, it's encased in the bag, so I don't have to spend 30 minutes cleaning it up.

Caulk Gun is fantastic! The caulk gun arrived three days after I placed my order
5/5

Where has it been my entire life? It easily dispenses even thick silicone caulk. Make sure you begin with the lowest setting possible. This is the setting for small beading around windows that I use. The only issue I had was a blowout at the back of the tube, which resulted in a lot of caulk being wasted in the auger tube. I did, however, come up with a low-cost alternative. As the auger shaft pushed forward, the caulk tube was moving up at an angle in the frame, so I wrapped a plastic zip tie around it at the back of the metal channel. The tube is securely held in the frame by this device. Simply snip the plastic tie when you're ready to remove the tube. This was done with five tubes and no blown tubes.

I'd give this 5 stars if it didn't have no pull back when you let go of the trigger, which means the caulk or whatever is in the tube just keeps coming out
3/5

I'd give this 5 stars if it didn't have no pull back when you let go of the trigger, which means the caulk or whatever is in the tube just keeps coming out. All of the good guns have a pull back feature, which makes working with battery-operated guns a lot more fun. br>br>Apart from that, it's an excellent weapon. It is inexpensive in comparison to the competition, but not in comparison to older manual guns.
