Questions & Answers

This material is 13oz permatex ultra grey and I need a caulk gun for it. Do you think this would ?

There is no indication of the size of the Permatex tubes, but it works with caulking tubes as well. A great tool which will make a perfect line of caulk and pushes it into cracks and crevices with ease

Could you please tell me if this will accept quart-size ?

I can fit 300 ML/10 in it. There is a 1 oz cartridge. You can read the simple description here. There are 32 ounces in a quart. I love it! In any case, this is an awesome tool!

Selected User Reviews For Makita XGC01Z 18-Volt LXT Lithium-Ion Cordless 10 oz. Caulk and Adhesive Gun with BL1850B 18-Volt 5.0Ah LXT Lithium-Ion Battery

This is a great tool! My career as a builder dates back nearly 50 years, and there is only one thing I can say about this tool wish I had discovered it earlier
5/5

I like this a lot! It is my own opinion, however, as I possess many Makita and Dewalt batteries, so I checked out the reviews on both the Makita and Dewalt batteries. The Dewalt users complained about the caulk being fed too fast. Thus, I decided to buy the Makita hoping for the best. My helper is very picky when it comes to caulking. The old Airstream nose pan had some seams that required caulking, so we used that as a good test for the new gun. Once he had the flow adjusted to where he wanted it, he never looked back, not even to the hand-held Also, I have used the gun and I am amazed at how easy it is to use! (I am in no way compensated for this review in any way, nor am I connected in any way to Makita. ) You should take care of yourself.

There is an inconsistency in the speed range
3/5

It has been about 450 linear feet since I first tried caulking Type II Silicon with this gun, and I have It took me a while to figure out how this gun works, but let me describe how the pressure is controlled. In principle, there are two methods of controlling how fast the gun travels as well as how much pressure it applies. *Brief description here An array of numbers from 1 to 5 is located on the back of the firearm. It is advisable to apply 1 very slowly, while applying 2 It happens so fast that the product seeps from the back of the tube inside the gun and causes a mess. The dial can be set to various increments between 1 and 2, but I still find "1" to be the most helpful. The performance of 1" compared to just 1 is significantly faster. Having to go above 2 is pretty aggravating, and I have never had to do this before. Please specify 2. How much you squeeze the trigger also controls speed. There is an inconsistency in this control system. A half-word can be used At first I apply a great deal of pressure to the bead, but it slows down once I have gone a part way through it. Afterward, I'll have about a foot or two of beading done before it starts to speed up again. Rather than being able to move the gun at a constant speed, I need to adjust the speed and slow down as needed in accordance with the pressure the gun is exerting at a That's a real pain. When using the variable trigger method, the bullet does not apply a constant pressure, which is required when moving at a constant speed. I would rather have the bullet apply a constant amount of pressure, which the gun cannot do when using the variable trigger approach. With regard to the dial, the difference in speed between 1 and 2 would make it much easier to use if the difference was not so significant. That being said, I can attest to the fact that the gun has spared me from several hand cramps and possibly even prevented carpal tunnel syndrome. There is just one thing I wish was better about the speed control it should be more precise.

Thanks for making this tool available
4/5

Thanks for making this tool available. I am very happy with it. Caulking is what I do for my window business, so I do a lot of it. This is the makita caulking gun I bought. It only took me a few seconds to pull There are 15 software packages I install The window count is generally around 20 per day (for new These are the four sides of the window nail flange that need to be As it's now winter and the caulking is somewhat cold (I kept it in the truck while I was driving to work), the tool has failed due to the force it was put through. There is a carbon fiber caulking tube holder that is threaded, and it now fails to thread, and just jumps when there is a small amount of pressure My next step is to call Makita. It says they provide a one year limited warranty on their website. As of today, I am a few days past the Amazon return date of thirty days after acquiring the tool on November 1st 2016. Rather than use the carbon fiber caulking tube holder and the carbon fiber mating washer made from a weak material, I would suggest using one made from A second reason to give this product only four stars is the carbon fiber plunger at the end of the push rod does not keep caulking from squeeze out escaping and getting on the push rod.

The system performs well on heavy, thick materials in particular
5/5

Honestly, I just want to caulk and seal everything with this thing. The beads are evenly distributed, and the flow is smooth. You're so good at The only problem is that my wife has tiny hands and she has a hard time squeezing a standard caulking gun with her little hands. It is great at getting even the thickest substances out with no effort what so ever.

The user friendly nature of this tool will help the user to lay out caulk in a "consistent" way with little training
5/5

This caulking product was purchased as a replacement for about 250 linear feet I was able to fire the gun without a hitch. As far as the weight versus body fat was concerned, I was a bit worried. I found that it was well balanced and easy to get a consistent bead with a manual triggered caulking gun. The Makita 18V caulking gun is not only one of the best tools I use every day, but also one of the best Makita products I can recommend.

An elbow caulker designed for tennis elbows
5/5

Yeah, i guess. Tennis elbow is a problem I have even though I'm not a professional. I used this tool to caulk my seams and window trims this year, and in the end, it wasn't too harmful to my On those long seams, I have to admit it's nice to not have to break a bead to recaulk your grip. As long as there is caulk in the tube, it will keep going until it In fact, I rarely get higher than 2. There are five speed settings. It's clear that 1 and 2 are quite different in terms of speed. A full tube of caulk will be emptied in a matter of seconds when set to setting 5. The clip that hangs it is essential for professionals you should also consider getting the sausage gun adapter if you are one.

Is there a way for me to live without it? Is there a way for me to live without it? Even though I already owned the 18v batteries and the bare tool wasn't that expensive, I was sure this was an unnecessary purchase
5/5

My purchase of this product finally went through when I ordered some computer-related items Construction of a two-story concrete building It is composed of one part epoxy adhesive paste and one part silicone adhesive paste. There were only a few negative reviews, except in regards to how difficult it was to squeeze the adhesive with gritty material As a result, we decided to give this a shot to see if it would help. Now that caulking is so simple, I do so much more of it.
