Questions & Answers

When I can get this for $180 or less just about anywhere else, why does this place want almost $250 for it?

There are multiple places where you can buy this for $183 with free shipping. It's the same model 425 with a metal collar guard.

When it says the manufacturer is Drake Off Road Tools, what does that mean? Does this sound like a Gransfors bruks to you?

As far as I know, Drake Off Road Tools used to be a distributor for Gransfors Bruk. It is an authentic GB tool, and it is made with the same attention to detail and quality that all their products share!

How do you find out if a drake is a Gränsfors?

THE Gransfors Bruk consists of our stock. 'Drake Off Road Tools' seemed to be one of the sellers offering it on Amazon quite some time ago (possibly they created this listing first). In addition to their brand name, they have registered themselves as a manufacturer! This may have been either an error or self-interest The purpose of this is promotion. A listing would be owned by Amazon and serve all sellers who supply a particular product (with the same UPC code), so it would be incorrect and against Amazon rules. There are often times when changing the description of an existing listing is a real challenge It has taken us a number of requests to get Amazon to change the title, and they have only done so once Neither the bullet points nor the description were changed, and we have no idea why. The lack of attention is probably to blame. Overall, it is important to note that You won't need to bother with 'Drake Off Road Tools' if you buy from our stock, as we sell only genuine Gransfors products. It is my pleasure to help. Does this axe's pole have a hardened surface? I can't understand how charging $200 for half of an outdoor axe if it is not an outdoor ?

All GFB hatches and axes are hardened to a rockwell 57 hardness as far as I know The hardness of the diamond is 59. When I use it, I drive tent stakes and nails but I do not pound on the pole like I would with There's no way to do that with it. According to my experience, this axe weighs only a few pounds and is very effective depending on your level of axemanship. Due to its lack of weight, this is not suitable for novice axemen. The aim and the force you need to complete your assignments should be efficient and effective. However, getting used to it takes some time. It is extremely sharp and well made. Handcrafted and of the highest quality, they are all hand crafted by their artisans! An axe/hatchet like this cannot be found anywhere else. From the splitting maul to the mini hatchet, I own 7 GFB axes and love each of them! Any other way is not an option for me.

Council wishes their Woodcraft line was everything they would like it to be
5/5

The best bushcraft axe on the market by a long shot. There is nothing better made, harder, or more practical than the Council Woodcraft (which tries to do too much and is less than fantastic at anything). ground it out aggressively for a long weekend and the edge was still feathering wood paper thin without a problem. Just 2 minutes with the strop and the hair pops like a maniac. There are miracles at Gransfors with 1055. It's basically a Hudson Bay that's reduced in size so that it can be used for very precise work while being strong enough to break a log into everything you'll need to start a fire. I find myself using this to do things that I normally reach for my knife for. If you know how, you can still crack a log that is of substantial size to match sticks if you are very careful. There are some people who may not like this design. A user who is more advanced will be extremely pleased with it. The perfect axe for wood burning stoves would also be this one. This product has blown me away and I have a reputation for being hard on products.

I find it to be perfect for my needs
5/5

A couple of my GB axes are small compact axes, and I was looking for a compact axe that would provide light weight and split wood efficiently for my winter load out. I purchased this axe for its size and split ability. This axe allows me to split wood, limb dead branches, make tent stakes, pound them into the ground, and make feather sticks while maintaining a light weight load out while I winter camp. With this axe, it would be possible to fell a tree, but I don't consider it practical for my use, and I think it would require major effort. I was impressed with the quality of the fit and finish of the Outdoor Axe, as I would expect Outdoor axes may be pricey, but they are worth the investment as a tool you'll be able to rely on far from home.

You may be spending a good deal of money on it, but it will be well worth it if you plan to use it for several The purchase of this item is definitely not an impulse purchase
5/5

Make sure you do I like it because it comes razor sharp out of the box and is well balanced, and it has features that make it a usable splitting axe (but not an ideal one). There are some who may think it tries to be all things at once, and no one thing is particularly good Weight and size are just right and it still performs better than many small and full size axes, allowing you to easily handle it one-handed Like a hatchet, it is held in one hand. The handle is also well proportioned, with a wide zone directly under the bit of the axe. This provides a comfortable place for holding it while doing detail work (notching, dicing, and even kindling! By including a metal collar under the head, you'll be able to reduce any impact on the handle due to Although it is not a maul, you will be able to split cord after cord of wood with this. And I do not believe you would find a better camp axe that you could easily throw in a backpack, handle yourself with one hand and achieve the same level of output.

The new way to do it for me It is the cutting of wood with an It's an excellent piece
5/5

The axe is incredibly useful to me, and I cannot express how thankful I am for it. I've been using it since the beginning of the year As soon as I pick up one, it will be the one I I am very satisfied with the quality. Besides this, I also have a Wildlife Hatchet that is slightly shorter and has a little more weight to it, but I have found that this is superior in terms of looks and functionality on hikes and motorcycle camping. It is difficult to decide between the two without careful consideration.

One of the best tools you've ever used
5/5

The package arrived razor sharp and beautifully packaged. A leather belt holder has been bought for it, and I take it wherever I go. From a normal knife to a medium axe, it can be found on this list. This is the tool I use more than both my knives and my large axe.

It's worth every penny, and you'll never have to buy another one again
5/5

Compared to what I would have paid straight from the company, it was a little more expensive, but it is still worth it, considering they don't ship to the United States. I use it as a hatchet rather than an axe, but it's razor sharp and fits nicely in my pack. Handmade is definitely the best word to describe it.

This is a Gränsfors, every single one of them is a 5! In addition to their high quality, Gränsfors Bruk axes are among a small number of high-end products today that can be passed down from generation to generation and are My choice was the Outdoor Axe over the Forest Axe and Splitting Hatchet because it gives you the best of both worlds (cutting and splitting The splitting process)
5/5

As a result, it's lighter than the other two and can handle either task with ease. For backpackers looking to watch their weight, this is the perfect axe.
