With an N10 that is only 17" long, I would call it a hatchet since it is most effective with one hand.

Those of you who enjoy fiskars axes and hatchets will be delighted to see this next step forward. My interest in these fiskars products was piqued by their traditional polymer axe with natural wood handle, after I used fiskars products for many years. This is the perfect combination for me. The body of the axe is made of natural wood, so you can enjoy the feel of a fiskars product while still getting the security.
Because we have to buy the wood we burn, the thickness varies from one piece to the next. To thin down logs and chop kindling, I keep this chopping axe in my wood shed and use it almost every day. That's a great tool—it saves a lot of time and effort I'm doing well. This is an attractive, efficient, and well-balanced design.
My love of Fiskars has been strong for a long time, so I bought this axe purely because I thought it looked My view so far of this purchase is that it works well and feels nice in hand. The only negative for me, and why it gets a 4 from me, is that underneath where the head connects to the shaft there is a jagged line of fibercomp sticking out where it wasn't cut right (as shown in the picture underneath the axe head). I don't really care too much about the fact that I got this axe because it had an eye-catching design, but I was annoyed because it was so aesthetically pleasing.
The handle of this axe is made of a nice wood, and it feels great in the hand. Considering the price it costs over the whole product, I'm not convinced it's worth it A plastic model is fine, but dang if it doesn't feel good in my hands to hold some real hard wood! I will only complain about the gate where the plastic is injected at the head of the axe, which has an awfully sharp edge right where your finger goes when you choke on it with your finger. There's no denying that glass filled resin is very abrasive, but a few strokes with a file can take care of it.
For an overnight trip by kayak, I purchased an axe. Though I haven't put it to use yet, it seems to be well made and of high quality. It is a nice weight, not too heavy, and it comes with a sheaf as well.
It is a very well-balanced piece of work.
There was a small ding on one edge, but it was fixed with a bevel and I made a replacement. It's great to see Fiskars produce such quality tools!.
They have several sizes to choose from. It has a hickory handle and is made by Fiskars. Outstanding axe! What more do I have to say? Chopping down small limbs and kindling is no problem with this sharp blade.
