Questions & Answers

In terms of regular daily use, how long do you think this knife will last?

The one I own has been with me for at least 20 years and I use it every day between March and November This month. Despite its age, it is still going strong, likely carrying on for another 20 years. The size of my garden is about 7000 square feet. He is a workhorse, and that is true of the Nisaku hori hori. This is a perfect solution.

Because of the lack of a crossguard on the rake, has anyone exposed themselves to cuts while gardening?

In the past, I have used this equipment a lot for digging old, very compacted sod with dense weeds and have never slipped and fell. As the fight unfolds, I use it to stab/dig away from me, as well as to stab/dig down on the other side of the clump, like slaying a vampire. I also use it to stab and spin around them as I do so It is a matter of - It may - It just zings. With all that being said, I personally believe I wouldn't give the matter another thought since I haven't had it slip so far. In closing, I would caution you to be mindful and careful in activities that involve using your OTHER hand too closely, as this is a wicked sin. In fact, I have come close to killing a clump while jabbing at it with the other hand. I have no doubt it is the best gardening tool I have used.

Can you tell me where this product is ?

A knife sheath that came with the Hori Hori had the following information on it The product is made

Do both sides of the blade need to be smooth or one side should be smooth and the other There was a program about this knife, and the knives they used had serrated edges?

There is an ad for An example is the 650, which is supposed to have one side serrated Due to an error with Amazon, I received no phone number. The 640 I sent back has two smooth sides, so I hope the next knife they send me will be the correct one.

Selected User Reviews For Nisaku NJP650 Hori-Hori Weeding & Digging Knife, Authentic Tomita (Est. 1960) Japanese Stainless Steel, 7.25" Blade, Wood Handle

Do you want to buy a knife called a hori hori? Having recently been in your shoes, I'm aware that it's a challenge to find a hori hori knife that offers such combination of quality and service
5/5

As I had a hard time deciding, I purchased this knife along with another similar one that cost Bonsai Outlet offers the same price as Amazon, which is 50 less. In the pictures below, you can see a Nisaku knife on the left. In spite of the fact that both knives have a nearly identical design, the Nisaku knife is clearly of superior This knife outshines the Bonsai knife from its grind and polish to the wood handle and even the pins. The Nisaku blade is proudly stamped with "Made in Japan" while the Bonsai remains anonymous due to its inferior steel and cheap price. Despite its high quality, this Bonsai blade has significant pitting, which was cleaned up during finishing, but is still visible and makes one wonder how it will perform over time. If you love high-quality, this is for you. With Nisaku knives, you can be confident that you are getting quality tools. In my opinion, it is highly recommended.

For any gardener, it is a "must have" product It takes years for an amateur to become a The knives I have are great! There are several weeds that grow in my area, including the mother of all weeds, Canadian thistle, which is indigenous to another half of the planet! This knife is extremely useful (I bought 2 and then someone lost one, so I bought 2)
5/5

This is a gardener's dream come true Just stab the earth close to the stem of the weed and go straight down (not at an angle). Give it a half twist with a bit of writs motion, and out comes the weed, roots, It is easy when the soil is moist, but even when the soil is dry, it still As a matter of fact, I think weed is undesirable, but this is an excellent alternative Those who kill. Blades are strong, and they won't rust even if you leave them in the elements for some time.

This is a very dangerous situation Use it for digging and you are at risk of cutting your hands
3/5

The hand guard is not present, so it is easy to cut your hands open if you use it to dig, which is what it is meant for. Digging and hitting a root can easily lead to your hand sliding down over the handle and then over the blade, cutting you open. Don't use this unless you don't mind seeing the ER and then paying a lot of money to have your hand fixed. In addition, there was a great deal of blood and pain.

A great tool for all your gardening needs
5/5

The device has been a great help to me in the garden, it is indispensable. For example, I have used it to dig up weeds, dig holes in my garden, split perennials, and cut grass. For all of those tasks, this knife proved to be very useful. Roots, tubers, and most plant stems will be cut right through with this knife's sharp edge. It would be ideal if the blade extended through the handle of the tool, but I have only one complaint with it. There is a little looseness in the blade due to this. There's still hope that it will last. The more I work with this tool, the more likely I am to update.

This is a great tool with a good build
5/5

Our first one was accidentally lost by the wife. I immediately replaced it with the same brand, as it is very well made and has a very sharp blade. A garden tool of this type is indispensable. We highly recommend them to handle all of your garden-related Their blades are very sharp and well-made, so they are a fine Japanese brand. A rating of 5 stars would be more appropriate. Please take note It is better for rust resistance to have a stainless steel version than a black carbon steel version, although the black blade version is slightly sharper and easier to maintain Make it sharper. Both versions of this appliance exist in our house, but I usually prefer the stainless steel version.

Contains a powerful herbicide which kills weeds from the roots up
5/5

Hori hori causes the weeds to tremble in fear when I approach them. Despite the fact that I have several other garden tools that I use occasionally, the hori hori has become my favorite. I will be saving this idea for my Christmas gift list this year, because EVERYONE who gardens needs this tool. My favorite part of gardening is pulling weeds out of our garden and it's so easy to do. It will be exciting to plant our vegetable garden from now on since we will be able to push out the weeds with the Hori Hori. Steel is used to manufacture the hori hori, which is made of extremely strong It can incinerate weeds like a terminator even in hard packed clay soil in South North Carolina. A large root can easily be pulled from the clay by the device. Roots can easily be released by using the serrated edge The planting of bound plants and trees. You can use the hori hori as a farming tool and it will last a really long time as long as you wash and dry it regularly. * Additionally, the measurement marks make it very easy for planting bulbs and smaller plants. In addition to the hori hori, with a nice little case included, the item comes with a useful storage pouch. This is very convenient for types A people who like everything neat and neatly arranged. The user-friendly features of this tool make it an excellent option for gardeners as well as non-gardeners You will become a gardener if you don't already are one using the Hori Hori!.

That is really nice
5/5

I like it a lot. As far as I'm concerned, I like It has been a great tool for me. The metal belt clip I have now is on a leather holster, as opposed to a cloth one. I like it much better now. It can be used to pop weeds out of the ground, kill spiders, kill army worms, dig out rocks when planting, cut open mulch bags, remove soil from gopher holes and push traps down further, and also to feel cool when With this knife on my belt, I imagine I look cool. It is versatile, high quality, and feels solid in my hand. I've been using it for more than a year now. Rather than being a luxury, it's become a necessity for As a result of my dog destroying my yard, I have been trying to bring it back to life. Native plants of California are what I am looking for. In my soil, there is a lot of sand. The area in which I live is characterized by alluvial fan plains. As it happens, we live near the foothills of granite mountains. Many rocks have washed, over millennia, off these mountains and found their way into our For example, I have to dig a hole through a lot of rock in order to plant a tree. This digging knife is used for levering rocks up or twisting my way through In order to remove rocks, I chop into the soil and scrape the sides of the hole as well. To me, the most incredible thing is that the steel does not appear bent. The blade is used to get leverage on the rocks, so I can wiggle it down between them. I really like this.
