Questions & Answers

What are the options for sharpening the blade? Are there ever times when it needs sharpening in order to maintain effectiveness?

Since I have no real understanding of metals, I cannot say for sure if the blade can be sharpened (I suspect it can, but I am no expert). The tool does not need to be sharpened to remain effective as it provides leverage to pull roots out of all types of challenging soil (dense clay, rocky soil) - there is no need to sharpen this tool. The arc-shaped array will be used in this case In order to possess a small head, the shape of the ed must be ideal. Beveled edges have been used on the new tool, so they are NOT razor sharp. The product works admirably and effectively for a variety of different kinds of weeds and root

Are the blades of the Mini and Regular the same width? Taking a measurement would be helpful. ?

7/8" wide (19mm) is the width of the blade on the CobraHead Mini. 1 1/6" (27mm) is the width of the blade on the CobraHead Original.

My garden bed is full of joe pye weed, so I need a tool to transplant lily of the valley from a path and extricate it What are the pros and cons of this tool?

Hook under and follow the roots of plants that spread using underground runners with this tool - it works very well in this situation. In this way, it would help with the extraction of joe pye weed. The method will be great if you intend to get the lilies out from between the stones, but it will be rough on the flowers. As the head is so small, it doesn't scoop up much dirt - more of a weeder Getting the roots out of the plant can be hard, so be sure to give them some TLC afterward if you choose to use it for this. This thing works great for weeding. I even got a belt holster for it so I can take it with me when I'm weeding.

We have two different sizes of this tool. Are stepping stones of a certain size suitable for weeds between them?

There is no difference between the two tools. While the Mini can get into tight spaces and pull out small weeds more easily, the Original has a better curve for reaching between rocks and pavers and scraping deeply down into the ground.

The invention is fantastic
5/5

It wasn't until I saw a couple of videos on the Mini that I decided to get CobraHead Mini over the original. Because I have never used the original, I cannot compare it but the mini is great. It can reach weeds in plants like creeping phlox that are small and difficult to reach by hand. When I worked on my phlox, I always had difficulty getting a weed to come out without cutting part of it off. The top layer of the soil can be turned with it when it's turned sideways. A trench can also be made with it. I like the ergonomic handle and it is not a heavy tool but it is effective. I'll be using it a lot. need to do is set the tip parallel to the root close to the center of the weed, press down the curved part with the other hand and scoop it up. When the soil was still damp, I used it. It worked really well.

I am very impressed with the versatility and usefulness of this weeder
5/5

I was skeptical of the rave reviews of this type of weeder as I had a lot of tiny but firmly attached weeds, so I decided to give it a try I decided to try this method to get rid of the embedded weeds at the base of my peonies. As I was going to be using it in a small area, I ordered the "mini. " As soon as my weeder arrived, a monsoon began, and wet weather forced the ground to dry so much that by the time I was able to begin digging, the tiny weeds (and their siblings, cousins, and kin) were shoulder height. It's high time! It's not a problem, in another garden I had plenty of crabgrass to remove. Despite its size, this weeder took care of them well. It is therefore a worthwhile addition to a gardening toolbox because of its ease of use and durability. My peonies were completely obscured by the weeds by now, so I could finally summon my courage to combat them. As I had trouble digging with a shovel and digging fork in areas where rocks were in the soil, I had to clear an area to get to the peonies. Despite the fact that this tool would have been laughably small in comparison to the weeds I desired to remove, I still gave it a shot. I was pleasantly surprised to discover that it performed well again. Since it was so small, it was able to get into narrow gaps between the rocks and quickly get rid of weeds, roots Other tools would be preferred for some weeding chores, but I would choose this as my one weeding tool if I had to choose just one.

Not as big and not as strong as it used to be
3/5

The Cobrahead full size is my favorite, but I tried this mini version as well. The full size cobrahead is the better choice for me and is not difficult to use at all.

This product is both versatile and user-friendly
5/5

Garden tools are one of my favorite purchases, but I am usually disappointed with them. read a lot of reviews on Amazon and watch a lot of YouTube videos before I make any purchase. However, I sometimes don't get the results I expect, based on other Amazon reviews and As soon as I got this yesterday, I immediately started using it on a number of large, heavily-used A flagstone path has become overgrown and the beds are overgrown. My previous method of weeding the same areas consisted of working with a standard metal stick with a tiny fork at the end and other tools (spade, shovel, secateurs, WeedZinger). I work very hard to remove any roots I can find, so clearing just a few square feet took considerable time. With the Cobra Head, cleaning the same square footage was a simple matter. My job today was to clear groundcover from sticks and roots in a strip. By pushing the point underneath the crown of the weed tree and twisting it around, I was able to remove 2' weed trees as well. In the next few minutes, I used it like a stirrup hoe to eradicate a ton of tiny weeds from a previously weedy area Plants weeded in the It only took me two hours to clear out a large area completely overgrown with weeds, aggressive plants, and large weed trees with this tool and a Radius Perennial Slayer shovel (The Cobra Head seems extremely sturdy and is a joy This is excellent news for me.

I find this tool to be the best
5/5

These two items have been purchased by me and I am very pleased with them. One reason I had to purchase a second tool is because someone put the first one somewhere safe, and now I am having difficulty locating it. (I confess I was that someone. it so much easier to weed perennial and bulb flower beds. Despite its small size, the little head manages to squeeze into even I wear a standard medium glove size and found the Mini to fit perfectly. I may not have chosen the regular size if I were larger-handed, but I am glad I chose the small size. This is the tool that I use to plant garden plants and to weed small rows. It is the tool that you should use if you have gardening to do. As I said, I've purchased two of these already, and if this one is lost I might buy a third one since I'm such a fan. There was only one problem I encountered, which was blisters and callus formation when I didn't use gloves. As with any hand tool that I use in such large quantities, it is to be expected.

I like it a lot
5/5

My first reaction was to move to the garden as soon as I received this tool. Spending over four hours weeding takes up a lot of time. It is a big help to me this year to declare war on weeds with this tool. There is a lot of quack grass in my yard and I cannot get it out. As best I can, I am only able to pull it out with as much root system as possible. Using this tool is a helpful way to do this. My vegetables are extremely safe while I work close to them. The roots of the weeds are not disturbed, and the drip tape is buried so that I can get at them easily. It is only the color of the handle that I would change. Red or orange would be good colors to make it easier to see under a pile of.

Now is the time to buy! This mini weeder makes it easier for me to weed 4x faster and my hands do not hurt as much
5/5

To give to all of my gardening friends, I plan to buy one of these. Invest in it, I assure you you will not be let down. The action loosens weeds from roots and then allows them to be pulled out easily. Moreover, I use it as a trowel because it digs holes for seeds and starter plants. Dirt is loosening with little effort when using this device.

Weeds within plantings are easily removed with this tool
5/5

The tool has a small stature but it has the ability to remove weeds in planting beds quite effectively. Transplant or replacement roots can also be dug in and/or thinned out by using this tool. Unlike other cobras, the cobra head is set at an optimum angle for passing quickly and easily through the soil. The neck contains no give, and the handle is a comfortable fit and easy to grasp. Using a sharpened edge on the well designed head, this tool can be used in different ways to weed. The handle has a wrist strap to help identify it when dropped, preserving hands so they can be used more effectively to pick up the scraps. With the tools within your pocket, you won't have to worry about losing them. You should take care with it due to its sharp edges. As a result, I will be ordering the long handle version of the original Cobra. It's a keeper and I'll use it again and again.
