I looked in every store in my neighborhood but couldn't find a pair that felt right in my hands. The majority of them were simply too big and heavy. In addition, I noticed that the majority of them seemed to be very tight when opening and closing the blade. So. I went to Amazon and bought two pairs of shoes that I had never worn before. TABOR shears are, without a doubt, my favorite! They're light, razor-sharp, and the blades open and close with almost no resistance! There isn't a single thing about them that I don't like! These shears are lightweight in terms of weight, but not in terms of cutting ability, due to the use of aluminum. I used to have a pair of Korean topiary shears with aluminum handles and shorter blades that I loved because they were so easy to maneuver for trimming, but they were stolen a few years ago. They seemed lighter than the Tabor shears, which aren't heavy and have a solid feel to them, allowing them to handle even the thinnest wood branches on a plant. These shears are well built, but with shorter blades (around 7") than a true hedging shear (like the German Berger at 10"), they are not the best design for tackling a long hedge. They're ideal for a 30' hedge, with super sharp straight blades that can be resharpened easily, as opposed to wavy bladed shears. They were made in Israel, according to Amazon's written commentary - so I bought them. Because the quality of Chinese cutting edges varies, I prefer to avoid Made in China for tools that require sharp blades. The tool has no markings, but the accompanying label identified Tabor as an Israeli company with a large print that reads "Made in Taiwan. " So I'm pleased because cutting steels from Korea and Taiwan are on par with Japanese cutting steels.
This pair of hedge shears is in excellent condition. It's well-made and sturdy, but it's also lightweight and simple to operate. These are the best hedge shears I've ever used, and I've tried a lot of different brands and models. The blades are precisely set in the handle and maintain a sharp edge for an extended period of time, making this a fantastic value.

I needed to clear a lot of low brush. These, along with a lopper and a fantastic bow saw, were my tools of choice. It had the desired effect. I adored these shears and took great care of them. I oiled these with mineral oil after I finished each time on the brush. They were razor-sharp throughout the entire hill I was cutting, not too heavy, and not too big, which prevented them from rusting. Perfect, and I strongly recommend it.
