Yes, they're completely ambidextrous, right down to the locking mechanism, which works on both sides.
It's a hand grip that requires you to exert more force when cutting; if you're using it to cut branches, keep the size of the cuts to the smaller branches!

I purchased them once more for a friend's birthday.
With little effort, I pruned a row of roses for three hours with them.
They haven't been in my possession for long, but so far they have been satisfactory.
It was simple to operate and did a fantastic job!.
They are extremely effective. Sharp. The lock does a good job of keeping them shut. I've been using them for a few years and they're still great.

These were extremely effective! I used to have some cheaply made shears that were completely useless. These aren't them! I became overly enthusiastic and ended up clipping far too much greenery to fit in my green recycle bin. My Carissa bush and Camelias were no problem to clip through.
