Although the design is attractive, it is not made of stainless steel

RUST shows up quickly! These are simple to use and have a good amount of strength. I used them for about a month on a few small jobs (trimming some tall grass, clipping ends of willow branches) and they worked fine. br>br>However, after about half an hour into a larger task (trimming new growth on a burning bush), they seized up completely. The blades were covered in rust, which surprised me!br>br>Picture taken after they seized up- Spraying them with WD40 quickly loosened them, which I hope will be all that is required to keep them running. Even so, having this happen after only a few hours of use is discouraging. br>br>I guess I *thought* these were stainless steel (as are the vast majority of items sold in major stores), but they aren't! br>If you want to avoid having to oil them frequently, look for a pair that says stainless steel.

This was purchased for work in the backyard. The blade is razor-sharp, and the grip is comfortable to use. When I'm working on my trimming projects, I feel very at ease holding it. However, remember to wipe the blade clean after each use to prevent rust.
