Questions & Answers

What does it mean when it says "uv stable" on the label? Is there any UV protection?

Yes. This is thinned varnish, according to Jamestown's description. Varnish has good UV protection, but nothing lasts forever in the sun, so varnish needs to be reapplied every year or so. This is intended for the first few coats of a typical 8-coat varnish job. That's how I use it, at the very least. You can thin your own or, in my case, I have enough varnishing from bare wood that I bought this for convenience for the first couple coats before finishing with Lust varnish from Jamestown. I like the Lust because I can recoat it in about an hour instead of a day like I could with the other varnishes I was using. Best of luck!

Is this a stain coloring or an oil-based water sealant? What are the ingredients in this dish?

It's oil-based and leaves a relatively clear finish that quickly fills in the wood grain in preparation for varnish. You can, however, add a solid stain directly to the sealer to achieve the desired "color."

Is it able to withstand high temperatures? I'd like to use it to seal a wooden grill stand. So it'll be very close to an outdoor grill (like a big green egg) (an inch or less)?

"Totalboat wood sealer compares to Interlux wood sealer clear 1026," according to the label, so it can be used under one-year warranties. part of the paint works well as a primer sealer?

This product is a varnish sealer, as the name suggests. Make use of a primer that is compatible with a one-step process. part of a painting

It does exactly what it says
5/5

When I finished the deck on my boat, I used this product. Varnish was leveled and dried. ready in three hours at 69F and 80% RH at 69F and 80% RH at 69F and 80% RH at Over- TotalBoat Lust is a coating that is applied to the surface of a boat. If you want a smooth surface, make sure you prep your work first. Two coats of Total Boat Varnish Sealer, three coats of TotalBoawet Lust, wet sanding with progressively finer sandpaper (500 grit up to 3000 grit), buffing with a cutting compound, and a coat of carnauba wax were used to achieve the finish I got on my boat's deck. All of this was done with the "roll and tip" technique. I didn't use a spray gun to finish this project.

Purchase it to use as a primer for your woodwork
5/5

What can I say? br>I'm not a carpenter or a boat builder, but when I do my homework, I can finish projects on time. I came up with the idea of making a table out of bourbon barrels. I water-sealed the barrels, but I wanted something more permanent for the tops, so I searched the internet and read until I found TOTALBOAT. I reached out and received a response almost immediately, complete with directions (because I made a purchase without first inquiring), as well as recommendations. br>It didn't dry quickly (3 hours), but it dried well (late afternoon in Los Angeles). br>Furthermore, I ordered the lust and received the mat by accident to follow this primer, but they shipped the wrong one and promptly refunded me the item and shipped me the new one.

This is an excellent primer

Dry wood, on the other hand, absorbs a significant amount of moisture. This goes on smoothly and worked well as a base coat before applying the Total Boat Lust; however, be aware that dry wood will soak up a lot of this. So, if you want to prime your wood completely, make sure you buy enough of it.

I purchased both the sealer and gallons of the resin to try out as a craftsman carpenter with over 40 years of experience working with various woods with "live" edges for countertops with matching live backsplashes
5/5

While I can't speak to the superiority of TOTALBOAT products over those of other brands, I can say that they performed exactly as described, with perfect clarity, and at a slightly lower cost. Sincerely, Will Rogers.

That is precisely what I was looking for
5/5

My staircase's carpet was recently removed, and solid wood steps were installed in its place. After staining, I used this product, and the result is lovely. It's simple to use, dries quickly, and leaves a smooth, easy-to-dust or-polish surface. I've been looking for something like this for a long time.

The product did not perform as described by the manufacturer
3/5

Cons: The product does not perform as the manufacturer claims.
1. It does not dry quickly; the drying time was increased by 11 hours.
2. Your wood's grain will be raised as a result. It was applied to ply that had already been finished. Between coats, sanding was required. br>Another viable option is Sherwin Williams' oil-based wood varnish.

TotalBoat offers the most luxurious finishes
5/5

I've previously used TotalBoat products and found them to be well worth the money. This is the dealer, it absorbed nicely on new Afican Mahogany, the thickness is perfect, a light sanding between coats with fine paper fixed some sags where I applied it too thickly, I applied three coats, very sheer, no fogging or yellowing, and now I'm building three more coats of Gleam 2. 0 gloss. TotalBoat comes highly recommended, with hot stir sticks, two buckets, and two strainers, all of which are well packaged.

This is an excellent product, which I purchased for use on a Boston Whaler that I was restoring
5/5

It was recommended by some Whaler forum members. The wood turned out to be extremely attractive. Every time I take the boat out, I get compliments. I even used it on another boat's teak, and it turned out beautifully.
