It looked natural when I used it to make French Polish and applied it to various types of dark wood. On White Oak, I didn't apply it. The best solution is to make a batch and test it on a scrap of paper or an unnoticed side.
I'm not sure what I'm saying. This is not a typical food item.
Perhaps a few months after you've mixed the flakes with the alcohol. Mine was mixed about five or six months ago, and it still appears to be in good shape.
Any brand will suffice as long as it is 70% or higher.

I used them on a sapele/maple stool (see photo, used Boiled linseed oil first, then this shellac) and I have plans to use them on a walnut bed frame. br>br>I mixed mine in denatured alcohol, they dissolved fully in a couple of hours, I had no insect bits, and the finish looked really really nice. br>br>I used them on a sapele/maple stool (see photo, used Boiled The test piece on the walnut looked great and brought out the color without darkening it too much like an oil would (my wife prefers raw walnut to oiled walnut). br>br>I also used a 1lb cut and thin coats to get to about 6-inch thickness. There are seven coats in total. 2 coats and 4 coats later, I lightly sanded with 400 grit. Each coat took about 5 minutes to dry, but I let them set for a couple of hours on the sanding coats just to be sure. br>br>Overall, I am very pleased with the product and will purchase it again.
The advertisement stated that delivery would take four days in most cases, but it actually took ten days. Arrived late, and when I tried to use it, more than half of the flakes refused to dissolve in "new, unopened" alcohol, and what did dissolve was cloudy. I tried it in a different batch with a different brand of alcohol that had never been opened before. The company blamed Covid when I contacted them about the delivery. It would have arrived in the time frame they quoted if they had sent it priority mail, and it would not have been subjected to the long-term temperature changes.
Great product that arrived on time and at a reasonable price, and was simple to mix and use. For me, this is the ideal color. I'll be ordering from you again in the future.
In my 20 years of woodworking, this is probably one of the highest-quality shellac products I've used. br>It dissolves quickly in alcohol and is ready to use the next day. It's neat and tidy.
There were no discernible solids in the mix after it had been thoroughly mixed. There were no flecks or solids when I held it up to the light. It's extremely clean. I frequently French polish my projects, and this product is ideal for the job.
Shellac of excellent quality, just as described.
This shellac dissolved easily in ethanol and left very little residue behind. Good.
