It seems like a terrible thin layer of plaster over lath, even though it might be 3/4 inch thick. The L & M versions have always worked for me

At best, this is a gimmick since the one I received was used and as such, is not a brand-new product. Moreover, the magnet is too weak to be of any use. There is no doubt that it will find nails in a drywall, but it is not as effective as any neodymium magnet (including MagnetPal or CH Hanson magnetic stud finders). I cannot recommend this product over all its price is high (the reason it only gets four stars), however, it is a wonderful item you can use it on vinyl siding, and the magnet is strong and strong. Based on comparison with two other products, this is the strongest product in terms of magnetic properties. Although I do not have a plastered wall to test these on, they seem to have a lot of versatility. My recommendation for this product would be to pick it up. Magnetism The MagnetPal 80% of the time CH Study Pop 70% 40 percent.
There is no doubt that it works. Although it takes a little experimenting to figure out how it works, I have mounted my TV with one of these and enough time has passed for me to guarantee that it will not fall Here are a few warnings As I have white walls, the bottom of my foot did leave marks on them after rubbing it against the wall. Once done, cover it with a paper towel to avoid any stains.
As opposed to drywall, don't bother with a stud finder or one of the radar devices you can plug into your smartphone if you have plaster or lath. This is a device. Buy a StudPop and you're all set. There is an issue, but it was resolved a long time ago. For objects lighter than plaster, you may be able to get enough purchase on the lath and plaster with screws biting into the lath. Whether it is a small shelf, a bookshelf speaker, or whatever. In contrast, you'll want to find your studs for monitor arms, televisions, and the like. Check out this little piece finds the nails that hold the lath to the stud by digging at the surface. Once you find one, you sweep back and forth across it and next up and down until another nail line appears, and then you verify that you have actually found the stud. It works just as well as swinging a magnet back and forth, and it's much easier. It'll never fall off the fridge or get tossed under the couch by the cat if you keep it on your fridge with the rest of your magnets! can.
In a nutshell, The thought does not make sense to me at all. Old plaster walls and lathe floors are on the walls of our old house, which was built in 1919. Whenever I have tried to find studs, I have always struggled. None of the electronic finds That is, none of the things I bought. The thing is very simple and easy to use. I saw it on Amazon for a good price, and thought I could take a chance. My home was covered with studs as soon as I took it out of the package. Buying it is awesome, you won't regret.
It is important to know that while the picture shows four stud finders, you only receive In addition, as another poster stated, you can get the same effect if you buy a set of small and powerful magnets from a hardware store. In addition, you actually have something to hold onto while you move the device on your wall since you get a plastic ring that surrounds the magnet. Additionally, it is kind of cute to see the center piece snap to attention when you are standing over a nail or You can also use it as a storage container to keep it organized and easy to locate. Put your smaller magnets away after they stick to something. If you can't find them, try to find your larger magnets. When centered over a nail in a stud, it is barely strong enough to not slide down the wall.
It works in exactly the way it is It is possible to find a stud by having the magnet right on top of a nail, but it is so weak that it must be right on top of the It should be moved to the half-way mark You can make one pass anywhere on the wall, and expect to find a stud if you move the studfinder one inch. Electronic studfinders are notoriously sloppy, but at least you can make one pass in any direction. Studpops depend on pure luck unless you can actually see a nailhead, so if you don't see a stud you will not find one. (If you can see a nailhead, you've already located the stud.
The closet rod I was hanging on a plaster wall was in need of support, but I wasn't sure if the support brackets were actually screwed into studs. A small drill bit helped me find what felt like solid wood beneath the plaster after I had been finding false readings for a long time. It was over a decade ago since I bought my stud finder, so I decided that the current devices should Studpop was the product I ended up choosing after searching on Amazon for a well-reviewed electronic device. However, the good reviews and low cost of this device made it As soon as it arrived, I went to test where my closet rod supports would be. My sense of humor was pleasantly surprised at how fast it could find the nails, and therefore the studs, underneath The fact that every bracket was on a stud was also a relief. Study after study indicates that the Studpop must be the result of the new generation of extremely It sends an immediate and unambiguous signal both through its click and through the movement of the sensor toggle when it is slid along the wall Batteries are not required for any of these. To stock up on stocking stuffers, I purchased a few more.
Placing a magnet against the wall and randomly knocking on the wall can all be used as methods for finding studs acoustically or dangling a stud finder electronic device against the wall. Since nothing worked in this tiny, old house, there is absolutely no way I can store things on the wall without a wall mount. It was a desperate attempt to get a StudPop. Is that all? As I understood it, this was all Astonished at what I have just seen. When StudPop finds a nail in the wall it really clicks into place, audibly and visibly. Having gleefully marked stud positions throughout the entire house is the highlight of my day. This is brilliant! I can't imagine how it could be easier to use, AND it will serve as a permanent fixture on my refrigerator when I'm done so I don't lose it. The love of my life has come to me. The idea of giving one to each member of my family as a gift is appealing to me. I will always be with you, StudPop.
