I have only used it for studs. I find that the readings can be a bit confusing when trying to locate However, the edge marks seem to be off, while the center mark seems to be fine. Sometimes, the edge marks go on for as much as a quarter inch, but usually for about an eighth of an inch. It is misleading as it makes the stud seem like it is 2 in thick when it is only 1 in. Approximately 5 inches. In order to measure a 1 as accurately as possible, I use the following. 1) measure from left to right
2) move to the right, continuing to move even if the arrow or edge bars When you see the edge bar disappear, you should stop and mark the wall. 3) Continue to mark the center as you move. •
4) measure from left to right
5) find the right edge in step 2 using the measurements from the left. **6) Ensure center is correct. It usually results in studs that are 1 inches wide. Sometimes I go up by an eighth inch

Typically I do not mind the edges so I mark the center from each direction and drill, nail, or screw in between. Please note A little give was also present at the center mark. Most of the time, I find that it is less than an eighth it is sometimes possible to have inconsistent readings even when reading from the same stud edge. It goes without saying that I won't be returning, despite what I've stated above. The AC wire warning has already saved me, since its function works well enough for what I need it to do. Furthermore, it is possible to track the wire horizontally or vertically. Thus, it is all in all very useful. It may be caused by studs that are imperfect, screws in the drywall, or something else that is causing the errors to appear.

Based on my own experience, this device actually locates wood wall studs and live AC wires with great accuracy. To measure my accuracy, I found the center of my first stud, and then measured 20" in between the two stud centers. These measurements were in line with my original calculation. 75" in length. To determine repeatability, I measured from this second to third stud and has measured 24 each time. 25" in length. While I do not know the tolerance construction workers have to maintain, it seems close enough to I've been disappointed in a variety of "Study Finders" for years now. There is no need for me to search anymore. Initially, I bought this one and sent it out as a gift on the same day I received this one. Doesn't it feel great when you are satisfied with the tool you use? I'm very pleased to see Vivreal release a very high-quality product at such a reasonable.

The copper heating pipe was detected as a stud by the stud finder. With a screw, I punctured the hole. For the pipe to be repaired, I paid over $450.

does a good job of locating studs and is easy to operate. Because of the LCD graphic display and the left and right arrows, I particularly like the device. When scanning the back of a closet, it can be confused by nearby objects, such as wire coat hangers. If you want to make sure it does not get too confused, clear the area first. This tool is a must-have for those who are drilling in walls. The AC wire warning feature is a great tool. The metal detector works by finding metal studs, but also by finding ductwork edges. Before mounting a kitchen range vent where a furnace air duct led up to the second floor, it would have been convenient to have this tool before mounting it. It did not provide helpful results in my house when I used the Deep mode. Due to the inconsistent results of the stud findings with Vivreal, I did not rate it a 5. I found the first stud, then I scanned for the next stud and it was found 13 inches away, then I scanned the first one and it wasn't To identify where studs are located, it is necessary to conduct multiple scans. I would say this is a great tool for the price.

After using this product for a while, I decided to write a review of it. I don't claim to be a professional, but I have found this tool to be very helpful for understanding where things are. The accuracy of this scanner is not something I can comment on, but so far I have not had any mishaps with nails or screws. Also, I like the way it remembers the location of the stud under the wall and alerts me with arrows when to shift the stud.

Having tried another stud finder, and finding extremely inconsistent results after multiple scanning attempts, I decided to try out this product on the same walls as before. This time, I achieved reliable results every time, and could clearly see where the wood stud is located I have met all my expectations so far with this product.

This body finder is very well made and solid. While it takes longer to calibrate this finder before use than other finders, overall it is quite easy to use. We suggest performing a few extra passes to find the exact center of the hole It was used to mount a floating shelf on a wall that shared the shower with the hallway bathroom, and worked well. A far better finder than the Stanley one I used to have. This was worth the money and I would recommend it to anyone who is crafty.
