TH580 wall scanner is equipped with 5 scanning modes 1" (12mm) deep, 1" (25mm) deep, and 11" (38mm) deep stud scan mode for wood or metal studs, as well as 2-inch metal scan mode. The AC Scan mode detects live AC wires up to 2" (51mm) deep, while the 36" (60mm) deep mode detects only buried AC wires. There is a convenient way to switch between modes according to the circumstances

What is the accuracy of this wall scanner in detecting electrical wires in the wall?

Live AC wires may be missed if they are more than 2 inches from the sensor. When the device is located within (51 mm) of the scanned surface, or when it is in concrete, encased in conduit, or hidden behind plywood shear walls or metallic wall covering, or if moisture is present in the environment or on the scanned surface.

This is a solid and clean construction

There are two versions of this product, one of which is the TH240, and the other is the TH360. Having compared the two side by side (above and below), it appeared that this product could detect the same stud locations and types of studs more easily. This product has a natural grip to hold onto the stud finder and feels more comfortable in the hand. The only one I have tried was 1/2 inch thick wall and metal since that's what my family uses most. However, it would be great if you could turn it off without holding down the button. I know there will be a way to turn it off later on, but it's just a good idea to be aware of that.

The web browser I use most often right now is this. Jack built the house and I've been remodeling it ever since. I'm never sure what I'll find when I open With this baby, not so much. The entire scene is in front of me. Structural elements such as cables, pipes, and studs. There were even central vac pipes Jack put in but never connected. This thing is just amazing I cannot express how much I like it enough. There's no better thing than it.
