I am impressed with the quality, solid construction, and easy use of the gauge. The only complaint I have is that the wooden pencils provided for insertion in the center hole deform under the pressure of the thumb screw, which results in the "center found" line not being in the center of the hole. I applied several carefully applied layers of masking tape around the pencil to tighten up its fit in the hole in the center, allowing me to not need In this way, the gauge was effectively corrected for accuracy. There was a complaint in one of the earlier reviews that the pencil was off-centered. It was impossible to adjust the grip due to the single thumb screw, but now both sides have thumb screws and the pencil comes with a metal sleeve. My intention was to use it for center finding purposes, but it has not provided satisfactory results.
