They're simple to use regardless of whether you're cutting wood or something else.br> If I were to take your question literally, I'd have to say "No," because you're not going to use these bars to cut wood. They're used to set up the woodworking tools you'll be using. They make the setup process simpler and more precise.
I recommend purchasing it because it is light and weighs zero pounds. It weighs 6 pounds and has a good-sized box, so you can take it with you wherever you go!
Yes, accuracy is measured by height: ±0. 03 mm (less than 2 mils=less than 0 mm) 05mm). This is acceptable for the type of woodwork I do.

My, my. The accuracy of the bars isn't perfect, but it's more than adequate for the price and well within the range of their stated accuracy. The majority of them are off by,0005, but the 1/2" one is off by. On one side, there was 0015, and on the other, there was. 0000). If it hadn't been for the terrible packaging, I would have given it five stars. Die-cut foam is used to make the dividers. punch-cut out of a flimsy 1/2" foam piece This is sandwiched between two 1/8" foam pieces that are even flimsier. I had no idea there was such a thing as a light-weight foam sheet. You can actually READ it! As a result, the bars had easily moved from one end of the "iron:" to the other through the foam dividers. (What a chuckle - box) "Tin" is a common adverb to describe this. Once there, they huddled together and dented the tin box from the inside, making it appear as if something was attempting to escape. And I suppose these nice bars WERE trying to get out in the first place!.
The gauges are to my liking. br>br>The storage container, however, is a different story. The foam that held the thing gauges in place was extremely thin. While in transit, the boxes bounced around, shredding it. There was a lot of banging on the tin during this process as well. One of the gauges had gotten away from the tin and ended up in my Amazon shipping bag. br>br>It has no bearing on my rating because I didn't care about the box and it had no effect on the gauges.
You could spend a lot more on something else, but these are fine; the brass is nice and heavy, the measurements are etched into the bars, and the case is adequate. br>br>Many people are unhappy with the situation - It's thin steel, and the padding isn't the best, but I'm fine with that, and I'm happy with the quality for the price; I plan to use it a few times per month. If you use spacers on a regular basis, consider investing in a Woodpeckers set. br>br>What matters is that the spacers are solid, have precise measurements, and are clearly etched with relevant information.
It came in terrible packaging. Half of the gauges were at the bottom of the bag when I opened the Amazon package. The price of the tin is extremely low. It has numerous dents, and the foam between the lid and the bottom has been pinched, making it unusable. The gauges have a nice weight to them, but they are all scratched up after being shipped loosely in the bag. There were a couple of dings in two of them, and they were all filthy with finger prints and what appeared to be glue or water spots that didn't rub off. I was a bit let down.
Simple product that is well-made and comes in a nice case.
I wish there were a couple more heights to stack, but this set satisfies 80% of my needs. They come highly recommended from me.
They were spot on when tested with a micrometer. On all of the bars, I double-checked all four sides. It's a bit difficult to open the case.
The box had a dent in it when it was delivered. This order was to replace a previous one that had been dented as well. This was a present, and it's no good if it's dented. Because the box is made of thin metal, denting is to be expected.
