Starting at two feet? Durable, but will only last for a couple of years? I prefer if the tape started with the first foot increment being 2 feet in length
3/5

Please see the attached image for one foot of measuring and how this tape reads two feet at what is supposed to be one foot. I would give it four stars, but you always have to remember to subtract 1 foot from whatever length you measure or your numbers will be incorrect. My wife held the loose end when I first used it, so I didn't realize that the cord was missing until I was at the wheel end. In the middle of building our fence, I was stunned to find out that it was 1ft shorter than I had initially estimated. Was that a bad tape I got? The measurement is technically accurate, however, it is upsetting to have to subtract one from each measurement. I am giving it 2 stars overall since it is technically useful but extremely inconvenient and frustrating. It may not seem like a big deal, but when it's a lot at once, it gets really annoying, so forgetting to do it only once can mess things up.

This is a very high-quality measuring tape! It would be a good idea to read this book
5/5

Because of its rounded edges, the measuring tape is ideal for taking measurements of landscapes, around walls, and other tricky spots. The plastic measuring tapes are definitely better than those metal ones that don't There's something for everyone when it comes to measuring tapes. It's super convenient to have the ability to measure in inches, centimeters and tenths with just You get great quality with this measuring tape! It is so easy to work with this tape because of the winding real. According to the tape, it's made of a rubberized material that appears to be both One great feature of the measuring tape is the way the tape begins has some kind of cleat. It makes it easy to pull out, hang on a nail, and easily measure around corners. The measuring tape is excellent. There is no doubt that I would.

I like it! It has great customer service and I use it daily (I estimate fences and decks)
5/5

It is a compact tape, which I keep in my backpack, and I've had no problems with it. If I were to take a star away, I would do so because it was about 3 stars when it arrived Four months ago, the hook end of my Stanley tool broke for no apparent reason when I was measuring some railings. I contacted Stanley, and they immediately shipped me a new one and could not have made things easier (therefore, I give Stanley their fifth star for I find my system to last indefinitely if I don't use it professionally or as frequently as I do.

A good value for money
5/5

Dual increment tape that offers good value for the money. On one side, the measurement is an inch. On the other, the measurement is a tenth. The fact that we have both methods at our disposal is invaluable since we are using tenths and hundredths the majority of the time, but on occasion inches may My purchase price of this tape compares to the price of many tapes with tenths. I am satisfied with the winding action on this tape. There's not as much gearing as some other tapes but at half the price or even less, I am not turned off by it. A 90-degree cleat is located on the zero end of the pipe that can be hung on a corner of a building. To my knowledge, it holds enough tension to allow me to hold it out to 60 feet My impression of this fiberglass tape is that it is like vinyl tape, as opposed to some of the nicer Lufkin offerings that have a strong grip. There is a difference in the feel of the tape and it may be more susceptible to cuts. Once again, we will see but at half the price or better, I am willing to take a chance.

It would be better if they weren't Can you tell me why I would In my son's case, these tapes are used to measure the outside dimensions of homes
3/5

An appraiser, he has been in the appraisal business for over twenty years. As the tapes have aged, the edges of all of the tapes have frayed and broken at the 6"-mark. The length of the tube is 12". Why is that? This is due to inadequate reinforcement on the leader section, and a lack of cushioning on the clip to deal with rewind shock. This is my guess. If Stanley had less than a dollar he could beef up his mind I am "up" the first 12 The tape should be 24" long and an accordion should be placed on it Style, soft rubber or compound material on the reel nose, or on the tape at the point where the end clips connect with As soon as it is retrieved. My view of common sense is that it is just common sense. Nevertheless, I'm not a management engineer, so that's a little difficult- The kinds of people hell-bent on reducing the cost of production by any and all means.

It's OK to use for an individual or a small construction project
4/5

I found that it does exactly what it's supposed to, but seems to be too vulnerable to damage for regular construction work. There is no way to fold the knob out of the way, and the reel can easily be snagged, broken off, or sheared Neither the end of the winder nor that of the tape lock into I am pulling the tape from the spool when I carry the tape by the handle because the weight of the cleat at the end of the tape rolls the tape up. They are both simple design fixes, but they make me rate it as 4 stars. It is for occasional use when you have.

There is no way to lock the lever, which is Despite being proud to have American-made products, I am disappointed that the designers did not include a place to lock the lever in place
3/5

As soon as you let go, the tape takes on a life of its own, making them hard to keep undamaged for use again.
