Please see the attached image for one foot of measuring and how this tape reads two feet at what is supposed to be one foot. I would give it four stars, but you always have to remember to subtract 1 foot from whatever length you measure or your numbers will be incorrect. My wife held the loose end when I first used it, so I didn't realize that the cord was missing until I was at the wheel end. In the middle of building our fence, I was stunned to find out that it was 1ft shorter than I had initially estimated. Was that a bad tape I got? The measurement is technically accurate, however, it is upsetting to have to subtract one from each measurement.
