The tape was used by me every day as an appraiser throughout the work week. I found it to be easy to use and worked well. One of its weak points, however, is the end of the line. A re- where the hook meets the string is about an inch away A weakness is the fact that they're not enforced. finally broke about 3 weeks ago after cracking for several weeks. Stanley tools have been a part of my life for years, using metal tape that has lasted for years and a laser measuring tool that I was very disappointed when the tape did not last more than I usually get at least a year out of standard fiberglass tapes, however I wasn't as lucky with this one.
Since I have been appraising for 30 years, I have gone through five I used the same tape model from Stanley in the past, and it has been the best tape I've ever Thus, when it finally gave out, I ordered another and I am very satisfied that the tape has a bright yellow background that makes it easier to read the numbers. This is a highly recommended book.
In my forty years of construction, I have gone through a half dozen of these hundred foot tapes, which are typically used only at the beginning of a project when a lot is laid out and the foundation is laid. I can't believe this is my first 100 foot tape but it's my absolute favorite. One of its most prominent qualities is the ease in which it retracts back into its original position after extended Rusted metal tape used to fall off as soon as you reeled them in, and the handles eventually broke off as well. There is no doubt that this is a good product and I strongly.
We could greatly enhance the usability of this measure by making the following modifications. Adding additional markings to the tape would be the most important change. As of now, all measurements are based on feet and inches. In addition to total inches and stud markings, it should also have the following information. This measure makes it harder to plant seeds or to lay out studs. Each of these can be difficult to do with this marking method. Besides that, it could also be enhanced with a feature that prevents the tape from paying out while you're using When using this type of tape, the handle should fold over and snap into the housing to prevent it from rotating. The program does not adhere to this, so it is liable to pay out when you do not.
A cheap measuring tape for such a low price. The tape is a very inexpensive contractor's tape, but at the same time, much less durable than the Stanley Doesn't seem like it would hold up well under a heavy load placed on top, nor is it strong enough to handle being dropped on top of it. It looks cheap and I can easily see it getting damaged on site. A 'true' stop feature for the coil is also lacking, which requires you to hold the reel in place with your hand while measuring, which is very inconvenient.
The tape always breaks closest to the place where the tape meets the clip, where it has been for 6 weeks now. It has been getting worse and worse for these tapes over time. Due to my work as a real estate appraiser, I measure homes for them. It usually takes at least six months for them to expire. The quality of the tapes has declined to such an extent that I am dissatisfied with Stanley.
It was used for laying out my deck and placing my large storage shed which is 1000 sq ft. It is rare to find a situation in which a very long tape measure is required. It coils easily and I haven't had any issues with it twisting or jamming. Neither the tape nor the hook are easily damaged. I have no issues with it, and I like having it in my toolbox.
Up to 100 feet of measuring distance with a real tape measure. This product is solid, handy, easy to rewind, and does not clog up.
