It reaches a length of 30 feet or more. Using steel tape for horizontal measurements, such as running rigging on a sailboat, is recommended. The design is quite nice. When there is no concern about stretch, this is an excellent choice for horizontal measurements, such as dimensions over the ground. This reached a height of 40+ feet vertically and I used it for measuring new sails. We had a strong gust of wind and the tape was stretched to some extent. Within 44' there should be at least 1/2" of space. probably won't be a big deal for your application unless you're doing it. In my opinion, this is perfect. You need to mark out the accuracy on the tape if you need it. In this case, steel tape is probably the better option. It will allow you to retrieve the tape neatly.
The package was well presented. I like the way the tape is read and the grip feels good. It's made to last, but it's Having not had a chance to try it out yet, I expect it will be used a lot as soon as the weather cools. The looks of it seem to indicate that it will be able to last for years to come.
