Questions & Answers

Is this laser capable of simultaneously projecting lines on the floor and ceiling?

When the PLS180 is resting on the floor or mounted on a tripod, it will project a line on the floor and ceiling. The PLS180's design provides a fanned out 180° line (horizontal and vertical) from the front of the unit to the customer.

Does this come with a hard case, and if not, is there a green laser kit with a hard case that includes or excludes the other laser?

A grey plastic hard case, as well as a soft case for the laser unit, batteries, and a magnetic bracket are included. Acme Tool was where I got mine.

Is it equipped with a wall-mounting magnetic bracket?

It does have a magnetic wall bracket, which works reasonably well. However, that is the only attachment included with this laser.

Is a magnet part of it?

Yes. It comes with a magnetized bracket and holes for screwing it to any surface.

Without it, I'm not sure what I would have done
5/5

I had no intention of spending so much money on a laser level, but I'm glad I did. I've used it for a variety of projects where a traditional level would be ineffective. I used it to level gravel going in for a basement slab and to mark lines for pouring a slab, all while maintaining exact pitch. Outside, I used it to create a stone patio. The green light isn't completely visible in daylight, but it will work as long as the sun isn't directly overhead. It worked great for me to level a lot of my projects outside in the evenings or early mornings. I'd say the beam spans 140 degrees (guess), but it's just shy of a half circle. I then put it to use. br>br>It saved me a lot of time and was well worth the money.

I'd only had this laser for a few months when the glass on the joint started cracking, blurring the vertical beam
3/5

We don't know if this is a one-off defect because the company doesn't warranty the glass and doesn't look at the actual laser to make their decision. I've had the red version of this laser for at least 6 years because I work in construction. For the past 14 years, I've had a rotary laser made by a different company. I use them on a weekly basis and they are both in excellent condition. I understand how to care for tools and how to use them because that is how I make my living. Unfortunately, I believe PLS no longer produces high-quality products, or at the very least, does not stand behind them. If you're a professional, I wouldn't use this laser. If you only use it once a year at your home, I'm confident it will suffice.

The green laser is just as visible as the red laser, but it is much more expensive and uses the battery much faster
3/5

I bought it because the green laser beam is more visible in daylight, according to the manufacturer. That is not the case! When I compared it to the red laser, I found that they were both visible from the same distance. The green laser, on the other hand, depletes batteries much more quickly and costs significantly more money.

could pay for itself in the long run
5/5

The first one I got had a cracked lens, so Amazon quickly sent me a replacement (thank you, Amazon). In daylight, the green laser is easier to see, though I had to shade the area to see the line. This saves enough time on my projects when compared to using a level that it will almost certainly pay for itself over time. I use it in conjunction with a tripod for my camera.

For a period of 30 days, the seller will handle your return
3/5

For two and a half months, it worked perfectly. The previous laser, a $100 Bosch, lasted for 8 years before breaking. This one has cost a hundred dollars per month so far. Don't buy from this reseller; we'll wait and see how Pls handles it.

My first unit went out after only 2 minutes of use, so I had to get it replaced
3/5

The replacement lasted only 5 months and had the same problem. Even though it says it's turned on, it won't project the laser. It's a shame I bought two; I haven't opened the second one yet, but I doubt it will last, and I'm hoping you can fix it now.

It's easy to see, and the beam is tight and precise
5/5

As a general contractor, I handle everything from cabinet installation to concrete floor leveling to wall and opening framing. I've had this PLS 180 for over a year and am extremely pleased with it. It consumes batteries more quickly than my old Bosch red cross hair laser, but I solved this problem by purchasing rechargable Twharf AA batteries. She's ready for a full day of work after charging the batteries overnight in the truck. I'm usually able to get two. 3 days without a charge is a long time in my opinion. With it, I also have a Bosch BM3 mount. It has recently been used by my electricians to install trapeze racking in a warehouse. From a distance of 50 to 100 meters, they can see the beam clearly. a hundred feet away.

I really like it, aside from the price
5/5

I work as a contractor and use the laser on a daily basis. I've tried all the brands before, but my favorite is the red PLS version of this one, which is very easy to get into odd places. confined spaces, bright lighting, and so on However, it was difficult to see the red on jobs where the lighting was bright. br>br>In bright environments, the green is noticeably easier to see. I haven't tested it in direct sunlight, but it's brighter than the red. br>br>Only drawback. This green version is overpriced, so unless you require extreme brightness, I recommend sticking with the red version.
